Fluidyne radiators are good, but pricey. I had one on my Cobra and it kept the motor cool even in bumper to bumper traffic. I paid $400 for it, but imo its worth the money.

I always heard they were prone to leaking.

Stay away from Fluidyne.
They leak more often than not. Go over to the Corral and do a search, you'll see what I mean.
Just call 1800radiator.com and get an OEM replacement.

Didn't have the Cobra long enough to know if the Fluidyne would leak.

dont you still have warranty on the 3v?
why not have the stealership take care of it?
seems like that will be the most logical thing to do, no?

It's not the stealerships fault the radiator is broken it's mine and plus i have a nitrous kit ;)

Gotcha. Forgot about the nitrous kit you had on there.
So how did you manage to break the radiator? Im going to say that it had to do with you installing the purge. :look:
but try that radiator place kevin mentioned.

i have a fluidyne and its been fine for a year....fluidyne radiators arent they only ones that leak...the reason they leak is because when installed, they sometimes have a tight fit, giving them no slight play in movement, so they can easily crack or break.....when i installed mine, i made sure there was some play in it to avoid that problem....this is also stated in corral if you search it....do some research on it...not trying to offend anybody but some people dont have experience with things and just speak what they read...other radiators to consider are oem, mishimoto, griffin, flex a lite, summit.

That chassis flex theory is nothing more than that. Since there is a guy here who does body work I'm sure he'd be qualified to speak on that. Think about it.... how would the front core support transmit ANY flex from the chassis to where the radiator is mounted?
They are aluminum and are prone to pinhole leaks at the end tanks as are the Mishmoto shit that people were all hot and bothered about a 1 yr or so ago. Cheap chinese made shit... and also a copy of the Fluidyne design. Looks just like them. And guess what...they leak just like them too. Thats what the guys who bought last year are finding now.
BTW, my buddy Danny (Killer95stang) has had a couple fluidynes go bad on him over the years I've known him.... no big deal since they are local and I believe he went and picked up warrantied replacements on will call.
His hasn't leaked that I know of in a few years, but then again he doesn't drive the car more than 100 miles a year anymore. So I'm not surprised by that.
So I'm not just talking from what I have read and repeating it here.

hey 5litarag, i hope you didint take my post personally, bcus i wasnt aiming it towards you...it was in general, you know how some people are..my second stocker was fitted REAL tight for some reason and it cracked in like 5 months....i then installed the fludyine and left some play...so far so good. if the flex theory is just that, a theory, i guess im just lucky lol....its 50/50, some people have bad luck with them and some people dont...5litarag is right on the mishimoto....the only thing different on the mishimoto is i think its just a 2 core while the fludyine is a 3 core.....
another thing to consider, according to stephen from powertrain dynamics is that some radiators are too damn thick for some stock fans, meaning you can have a nice 3 core radiator but if your fan cant keep it cool, its not gonna run cool as you want it to....i think im having that problem right now...i have a fluidyne, hipo water pump ,180 degree t stat, stock fan....it never goes past 200 but i fell i should be able to run alot cooler....just something to consider

The first two Fluidynes I had lasted about a year each before they leaked where the fins were brazed to the end tanks. The third one has lasted at least 5 years.
My current setup is the Fluidyne, Stewart pump, 180 degree stat, stock fan and fan switch temp adjusted via Tweecer. All with over 10:1 compression using iron heads. Car runs 180 degrees all day long with the A/C working. When the temps dip into the 50's, the car won't go over 160 degrees, until I let it idle at stop lights.

I had a fluidyne leak on me, but it was my fault. I'm running a new one and it's been trouble free for almost 2 years now.
Whats wrong with the OEM rad? I've had good luck with the Summit universal radiators.
