Just curious for those that own a home on what home insurance company do you have and why you chose 'em from other insurance companies. From what I recall, there was a member here that offer insurance, but not quite sure if he also provides home insurance. I'm basically looking to insure the: 1) home structure, 2) personal property (during theft), 3) liability insurance, and possibly 4) flood (if area is prone to floods), and if my wallet can stretch to getting a 5) earthquake insurance. :afro:

Good luck with the earthquake insurance... it is incredibly expensive in CA, with deductibles that are in the thousands.. (sometimes 10's of thousands).
Your best bet is to combine home owners insurance with an Auto policy to receive the multi-policy discount that most large insurance companies offer. The best price I could find, which included auto and home owners was from Wawanesa. Unfortunately they will not insure a home with wood roofs or homes that have galvanized piping for its water supply. I ended up getting State Farm insurance for a very good price of $441 per year, that provides enough coverage for my $450K home.
I've since replaced the remainder of my galvanized plumbing... which was only about 15ft of original pipe (house had mostly copper) and should be switching to Wawanesa when the policy is up in December.

Hmmmmm... I am currently w/ Mercury Ins. (as far as auto. insurance). I'll try them and compare. I've already made email contacts w/ a few to compare their rates and policy/coverages (Allstate, StateFarm, Farmers, and Mercury). $441/year is pretty good as price is concerned, but what's the coverage? Just found out today during the home inspection that the home comes w/ a security system (brand: DSC???), which is from Canada so I'm not sure if I can get Brinks or a security monitoring system to activate this type of alarm. This should help lower the rates and the copper plumbing. Thanks for the 411 bro! :boost:
