i know you don't take the time to read any announcements or bulletins, but i did ask people who were having problems to get a hold of me and i would fix it. i know what the mail problem was and it's taken care of. now, if you would try logging onto your "normal" account, you will see that it should work just fine.

If "I told you so" helps you sleep at night Derek, then run with it.

The webhost didn't deliver what was promised (backups) and as such we are where we are.

We are leaving this host without a doubt but people wanted LAMC up pronto and we don't want to rush to another company just to do it. We want to make sure wherever we end up hosting is going to take care of us.

Trust me when I say, NO ONE is more pissed about the situation than myself.

Correct. She is with BBSLA which had her site down for a couple of days but it came back up last night intact.

Hell even glenn at mdub stops the boards and does vbulletin db backups. You're telling me that in the years lamc has been up you, strayer, or even damon NEVER did a db backup? Geezus christ man. That's like never backing up your accounting info. Just plain STUPID

Oh well I guess ya learned the hard way. Get lamc backed up weekly and tristas site. Sinergy doesn't have a site so was your business impacted by lamc downtime?

well, i came on mid-2008 and there was such a backlash that i was even made an admin, albeit temporarily, and that i was even doing anything on the site that i left a lot of things alone because of it. i just didn't need the headache nor the drama.

believe me, i do feel bad that i didn't run a backup because i have my own site set to automatically backup once a week. you can bet that we'll have periodic backups and when we do move to a new host, the site will be taken down to make a final one before the move.
