thanks, i'm actually rather surprised for the minimal mods it has how much power it picked up. i gained 26rwhp and 31rwtq with just a cai and udp with a good tune.

manifold just went out today, i'ma pick up the jpc cast manifold when it's avaliable, it's supposed to retain most of the bottom end while increasing power above 4500 rpms. camas have long since been gone.

My advice is to stop driving till you get a tune. The worst thing is not it fry's the spark plugs. I don't even think it will fry your spark plugs. I have seen pistons melted and exhaust valves warped from over heating and the spark plugs weren't the problem. And it doesn't have to be at WFO. You could be lean at idle and be stuck in traffic and cause problems. You would think after the first engine you blew from driving around on a bad tune you would learn your lesson.

why do you even care so much? and no the idle afr is fine it sits around 14.4-14.8 which is perfectly fine. the car isnt over heating and it isnt going to melt pistons... not to point blame on greg as i cant say what happened but the last motor blew on his tune but unknown what kind of damage was present or not prior to his tune. in any case the previous n/a tune ran very strong and had perfect driveability and proved great numbers. so i feel fine drivig the car very cautiously to and from work for 2 days and then to gregs shop

not sure im gonna assume there will be around 10-15 hp with both things from peoples dynos the average is 8-10 with just the intake change to the new jlt from the old. then max 2-4hp from the t/b from also other peoples dynos on the s197forum. but the truth will show once greg gets a tune on it.

The good and bad thing about a carb is that the settings won't change on you. EFI can adapt to different atmospheric conditions to a point. Vacuum gauge, A/F meter, and a screwdriver FTW! :rockon2:

Instead of getting a tune after every part you install, why not gather everything and do 1 huge install followed by 1 tune. It'll save you a load of money... :)

You can do gears, you're not gonna go without a car for no more than a couple of hours. But if you're serious about drag racing, I say build your rear end. Gears, diff, axles, LCA's, etc.

Just think about it. That's all.

If you want a bike get a bike. I known guys who have ridden for years with out any incident. Only time people crash is when they start doing stunts.
Prime example Rolo. He has had his bike for years now the only time he gets fast on it is at the track other than that he has been fine.
06silverbullet
10-23-2011, 02:38 PM
not every accident is avoidable, especially on a bike. i understand that, although i will say 90% of most accidents involving a motorcyclist have usually been brought on themselves for doing some not so smart things, ie cutting lanes and high rates of speed, weaving through cars. the bike would be used for when i go to and from work which is all freeway riding and all in the car pool lane. maybe a weekend ride here and there.

No problem, something is triggering the pats system. So if you do have ford flash the pats make sure you return the xcal to stock.

The shutting off when the pats isn't blinking is because I tuned the car with a gt500 tb and you took it off and put the stock one on thinking it would fix the pats. Put it back the way it was tuned and stop messing with stuff. The drive by wire tables are different stock compared to the gt500 tb. That's why when you brought the car in for the last tune and added thr gt500 tb the old tune was off.

i knew it would be a little off, i know when i put on my bbk 62mm t/b it didnt change at all. and at the time i just had the canned tune for the jlt 2 intake. before i realized it was a pats issues i took the t/b off thinking it was a tps issue. but now that i know its not i will i just haven't had time to move back over to the gt500 t/b. tomorrow i'll get that x pipe installed and the t/b back on.
