Dam...every 100 miles must be some kind of torture. I am going to try to do the electrical fuel sending unit and gauge write it up. if i am successful then bring your cars and open your wallets to me. :teach:

why not just replace the sending unit in the tank?

I did and it never goes up when the tank is full. It does work when there is 1/4 gas left. n LOL

must be a fox issue, because neither of my 5.0s have that problem...

both my 89 and 91's fuel gauges work flawlessly, fwiw.

my 91 works fine but when it gets really low it goes all the way up to full then comes back down to empty slowly

My fuel level reads lower than it actually is. Oh well, at least I'll never run outta gas.

Mine shows 1/4 tank low, and the temp guage sorta works. Replacing it, hopefully, this weekend.

LOL, nope. Just pointing out it's not a specific Fox issue, it's Ford issue.

Have never had an issue with fuel gauges or sending units in Foxes. And that's all I work on. As for Robert's question, yes it can be done. Stock Ford fuel sending units work fine, just replace them. They are not expensive, after all these cars are 16+ years old!

my `01 blazer has a flaky as hell fuel gauge, under half tank the gauge will randomly spazz out and jump around all over the place, it's not a ford issue, it's a car issue, audi's/bmw/mb's/vw's all have flaky fuel gauges too.

My fox gas gauge doesn't work as well. It had the cluster changed to the 140mph. ( its a 87 ) but I want to make it work. Anybody know how to change the sending unit? is it easy or is it just the gauge cluster? I hate having to pump every 150 miles lol.

I've owned a 89 and now a 90 and both of my fuel gauges worked perfectly...

but my buddy had this problem, he popped it out of the tank and replaced the unit and worked just fine...

the pain was draining the tank out but it was really not that bad at all...
