True Street
We need all you folks out there for this one! Gates open tomorrow at 7am. The manufacturers midway is packed with companies like Edelbrock, Centerforce, Maximum Motorsports, Energy Suspension, Baer Brakes, Mickey Thompson, Holley, Eaton, and the list goes on and on...
This is the real deal folks! But to keep them coming back we need YOUR help. I was out there today and this event could be badass if everyone would attend and RACE. Whether you participate in the autocross, True Street, or even the car show, you are needed out there!
So come on people, the NMRA/NMCA is finally here! Let's make this happen!!!

Just finished NMRA true street. It was hotter than hell. We put a soft tune in the car to try and take the 12.00 class. We ran
12.1 off the gas on the top end
12.2 off the gas in 4th
12.5 bad launch
We took 3rd place :) and won
$250 autometer cash
$50 edelbrock cash
$50 NMRA cash for anything at the track
$180 Hurst cash
Not a bad day so far.

My Sunday spectators experience.
This was the most disappointing event. I am absolutely disgusted that a "Huge Manufacturer's Midway" was even advertised seemingly in a way to promote the event. Not one fucking vendor had anything for sale! As a business why the fuck would you show up to an event such as this and not be selling anything? :wtf:
I am livid that I actually had money for once and not one deal could be made. I tried to buy 4 rims and tires from the Mickey Thompson trailer and they acted like I was bothering them!!!! I'm fucking outraged!!!!! For those of you who weren't as lucky as I was (when I went to NMRA in Illinois 2 weeks ago) to actually experience what the NMRA is really like.... I'm here to tell you that this wasn't it!
Complete let down.

<--- From Chicago. I know what you mean. RT66 is on a whole different level when it comes to events. I was also let down on the car count. When I was driving over the bridge I looked down at the track and said "That's it?". I almost turned around....

I'm glad someone else feels my pain. Where in Chicago are you from? I grew up by Marquette Park then moved to Cicero for 6th, 7th, and 8th grade. I went to Morton east high school freshman year and then transferred because my parents moved to the burbs and got us out of there.
They now live in Manhattan Illinois about 5min away from route 66 raceway. That is the baddest track I've ever seen!

Saturday was a much better day. Pit area was packed tons of cars. Sunday thinned out but there were more spectators. I liked the event. I don't expect this FIRST event to be as big as the races back east but I'm glad we had a decent showing as it now gives the event a foothold out west and hopefully a chance to grow.

I had a great time and the racing was awesome. I thought it was great for a first event. I need to have some drag radials and give Dave a run for his money in true street next year :D
HUGE thank you to those who came out and made this event a huge success! NMRA/NMCA will be back next year! Again, thank you!

I won 2 awards in the car show and they shot my car for a upcoming issue of Modified Mustangs
This even is NOT like the east coast events, but the west coast is different and we dont support it.Thats why Fun Ford Weekennd failed and luckily this event was ebough for the promoters to bring it back next year.
The cars in the Autocross were awesome as well as the Start/Stop, those were more interesting then the drag racing.
But I was expecting a little more. :(

No surprises about the poor showing at this event. As mentioned, this turned out just like the Fun Ford Weekend events. Perhaps poor scheduling (after PSCA event, close to Holidaty weekend, heat of summer) could have something to do with the turn out.
I knew what to expect. My goal was to come out to race and hang out with other racers. That made the event worth it for me.
