so i got hit today with a no front plate ticket and also a "muffler emitting excessive noise" ticket....27150(A)VC

does this mean i have to go to the state ref?

Does it say state ref anywhere on the ticket?
Turn it over and if there is no sticker for stating you need to call to make an appointment for state ref then your answer is no

Exhaust ticket is no longer a fix it ticket. Unless they put you on the smog dyno, just pay it and move on.

I'm pretty sure it is just a simple fix-it ticket. I got the exact same citation with the same VC and it was also marked correctable. You should be fine going in with your stock H and the bassani.

they will most likely put u to a sound test. Its VERY easy to fail it, so dont think just cause u have a c/b youll be fine. Take the test if required and see where it stands.

25$, and traffic school fees are going up too. Fishing Fees are up... This whole state is upping ALL fee's.. I just can't wait for my registration. I paid 249 last month i smell 498 coming. I just know it is.

F150 was $350 last year, $425 this year.
Focus was $71 last, $82 this year
1995 Mustang $62 last year and $82 this year
07 Mustang $200 last year and $285 this year.

Makes absolutely no sense how they figure out the registration fees.... Plus my truck is almost 5 years old and costs the same to register as the year I bought it....:angry2:

i got a ticket for no front lic plate, but what was funny is that i didnt have the screws to put it on that was the only reason, and there was no holes either
so i just had to go down to the chp and get it signed off i think it was around $10
it was a good excuse to take the whole day off work

I was lucky enough to find a sheriff who was sorta car nut so he let me go but it was darn close lol

I never cite for exhaust but I had to make an exception recently. I always hear a particular Mustang revving his engine at every stop sign, squealing tires on many occasions. Once, while I had a few gang members hemmed up, he passed by and took off like an idiot, because he knew I wasn't going to stop what I was doing to catch him. A couple weeks ago, I saw him again and decided to have a talk. I looked under the car and noticed he had a catless H-pipe, which wasn't the problem. He also had cutouts, with the covers removed. I cited him for the exhaust since his car sounded like crap and because he had NX stickers with no nitrous system in the car. What a poser!!!

the CHP can sign it off. you should know where their location is in BP.

also, there is no west covina sheriff's station. they have a small office at the west covina courthouse. it's located at the parking lot entrance, right before you go through the metal detectors. they can sign it off as well.

Thanks damon. I went to the San gabriel department during my lunch break and had the ticket signed off and paid it there too. I will keep the ones you mentioned on mind for the future. :cheers:

You can pay the full fine, you don't have to show it corrected. It's just cheaper if you show it corrected.

I had my exhaust ticket signed off by the van nuys court house. I paid for it only because CHP said they wouldn't do it, they wanted to have me get a ref appointment (NONONO).... I went to van nuys court house, did a couple rev's and the cops laughed at how quiet it was... Plus it is a couple streets away from my exhaust guys, so you can be legal and back to extremely illegal in seconds. I've been having LOTS of close calls recently with the new exhaust setup.... Only one of the leo's i ran into actually gave me a thumbs up and asked what exhaust i was running. I just said it is something i had put 2gether to get the note i want. (aka Straights from the downpipe to the rear) -_-... *crosses fingers* i have a SHIT feeling this exhaust is going to get me in trouble. I'm thinking of getting a single cutout welded on to the Y pipe and putting my stock mufflers back on

Man Im glad i live in AZ now. I love enforcing the California laws but glad i dont have to abide by them lol. I can have tint, no front plate, no smog anything and a loud ass car. Btw my 97 cobra tags with a vanity plate and personalized are $83 for 2 years lol. i love no smog too.

Ive been on party heat lol. I was on it last year for a small segment. I didnt get any airtime this year because they editted me out because my incidents werent cool enough lol.
