Hey guys, just looking for a lil input here. I have become pretty bored with the "pretty" look on my fox and am thinking of getting something a lil different soon. Actually, very soon if the Dale is not going to be open on Sundays this summer.

I'm pretty firm on the following:
1. saleen bodykit
2. 1.5 or 2 inch cowl hood max
3. CCW classics with black center/ polished lip

What I'm trying to decide:
1. keep the same shade of red but go with black stripes
2. keep the same shade of red with NO stripes
3. go with a satin (NOT flat) black paintjob. This option is currently in the lead especially after I saw some exotics with this paint scheme.

Thoughts or opinions welcomed. Please wait til this thread hits at least 2 pages if you want to whore.

Just what the world needs... ANOTHER black mustang. :jerkit:

if you're gonna do a black, be prepared to spend for all new body panels...because the body will need to be straight for it to look right.

I say red w/o stripes, but I'm very partial to red hatchbacks....

<3 black but satin looks very... interesting. stay with the red?

or throw it away and get a real car with vtec, such as a civic. the primer, err.. satin black will match up nicely.

You need a rare (ie exotic) or straight badfuckingass car (see pics) to pull off satin black. You have neither. I saw a DB9 done satin and it was  Today, I saw a late 90s Volvo done satin...ummm...negative.

Honestly...b/c there are so many beaner Fox bodies out there, Satin will look like primer to most people. Go with a nice red, no stripes.

'93 Cobra Vibrant Red, Saleen kit, ditch the Saleen Aero spoiler in favor of the Steeda one that is like a streched out LX. mmmmm

If I ever get another Fox hatch I would do it. For those who remember my '93 LX was Vibrant Red with the Saleen kit was BRIGHT in the sun, looked awesome.

Old pics of my car for reference

Red w/o stripes is now in the lead. Thanks for your input guys. This will prolly also be more cost-effective. I'm not too wild about black ccw classics on red cars though.

The flat black looks like ASS. There are a TON of foxes with primer black paint, especially hatches. Red, no stripes, polised lip on the wheels with a brushed center. HOTNESS!

Just do a nice stock red color... Vibrant Red would look sweet.

Decided on red for the color. time to research different reds now. I want something "deep" if that makes any sense. My current red is a lil too bright and orange-y to me.

Btw, how many 1 gallon cans of paint are required to paint a whole car?

I could be wrong but I dont think it takes much more than a gallon to paint a car.... they usually refer to quarts when talking about paint volume.
Talking about getting yours sprayed soon?

Btw, how many 1 gallon cans of paint are required to paint a whole car?

4/5 quarts

i would paint it one solid color, no stripes.

i would paint it one solid color, no stripes.

So, this means that 2 gallons should be plenty.

Thanks!

Thanks!I ususally use about 2 gallons, thats enough for jams and under hood, trunk lid.Paint will vary on price. My HOK Orange was 165 a quart, so that alone was over $1300.That didnt include the white and gold base or primer and clear. My materials ran close to $1700.

Another vote to keep it all red with no stripes...
