Only thing he has to say (I can safely assume) is that it is all Obama's fault and he should be lync... er I mean impeached as a traitor for doing giving them money in the first place... -sigh-
Although for some comic relief on the matter:

Ford, Lincoln, Mercury, Mazda, Jaguar, Aston Martin, Land Rover, Volvo.
Seems Ford restructured as well getting rid of Mazda, Jag, Aston, and Land Rover. Not sure if they still have control in Volvo.
One just needed gov't help, while the other didn't.

while you have a point, there are some differences. (i think)
Correct me if I'm wrong, but Ford actually only created Ford, Lincoln, and Mercury. Every other brand they had were bought out at some point (and some eventually sold like Jag, LR, and Volvo)
seems like GM just came up with 8 different brands, many of which were the same cars with different logos and factory options. :whoknows:

Correction.
One company had the foresight and business saavy to see where the marketplace was headed and cleaned their own house while the other robbed John Q taxpayer to do it.
I am sorry folks, I don't care what GM and Chrysler care to do in the future but on principal alone, if I buy American, I am NEVER buying any of their product.

Chances are they couldnt just start closing divisions and brands with taking on MAJOR sanctions from their respective labor organizations.
8 brands made sense to their business model for some time since it was a collection of brands they picked up over the years, however it requires large amounts of consumer interest and does not allow for an unprecedented downturn in revenues like we are experiencing now...

That spoof was priceless. I'm not happy about GM taking 20 billion to pay off their debts and then asking for 30 more of our money because their fiscally irresonsible.
Strictly judging the commercial alone, it was great. Covered all the points they needed to cover for anyone on the fence of buying a GM.

I disagree.
The average slackjawed American only hears "GM is going bankrupt" and who the hell wants to buy a product from a company going bankrupt.
The educated American (yes, they do actually exist) looks at that and sees right through the bullshit.
The catchy "The only chapter we are interested in is Chapter 1" type lines can be saved. They are chapter 11 on our pocketbook instead of chapter 7 as they should be.
You or I are not afforded ANY benefit of us financing the continued existence of this behemoth of incompetence, greed and unmarketability. (Guess who paid for that ad btw.)
I say, (putting a spin on their own slogan) Once upon a time it made sense to have 3 major American auto manufacturers. Not anymore.
If Ford proved anything it is that a company with solid leadership, a clear plan for the future that pays attention to markets and reacts quickly has good solid products without overinflated and repetitive lines CAN be productive and profitable.
That lesson is lost when we dole out money to the failing counterpart and allow them to go on and live another day.
I am sorry, I feel VERY strongly about this. FUCK GM and FUCK CHRYSLER. Both should have been allowed to fail. (that is right after Kevin gets his camaro and G8).
Fiat would have bought out the liquidated Chrysler group and GM would have been stripped and sold in parts just like it is being right now just without FIFTY BILLION DOLLARS OF OUR MONEY!!!

I agree with Mark. GM ended up going to shit anyway. Our money only prolonged the inevitable. Fuck them. Fuck them all.
