well the night was alright til the an ex car plowed a few cars in staging. Girl went to the hospital, an s197 saleen got fucked up(I spent bout 15 minutes bending his fender out of the way just so he could limp it home) and the ex car got impounded. Throttle stuck on the ex car. Word is the track is not liable. Waivers were signed for that reason. The driver of the EX car was pretty worried. Insurance won't cover none of the cars that got hit (cop said that) and now they gotta investigate and inspect the car that caused it all. Vrt03Cobra car looked sexy as hell

The shit happened on private property yes, but it was NOT during the commision of a "timed event". So its just like it happened at a grocery store parking lot.

I mean think about it this way, if dudes car was pointed west instead of east and peoples car who were spectating got hit, their cars wouldnt be covered because of where it was? Nope....

I'd call my insurance and say it was hit in a parking lot and not elaborate any further. If the insurance gives any shit, time to call an attorney and sue them for coverage.

Was truly a horrid happening, the X car hauling through the gates and into pedestrians and cars. Might be a game over for the Irwindale 1/8th.
For me I got 3 runs in before driveshaft input yoke split in two while launching after a delayed wait after the burnout due to whatever spilled on the prior pass in the Toyota lane. They had that lane shut down earlier for a similar reason, don't know why I couldn't have run another single as we had been running. On one I ran a 7.77@93, not bad for my current setup.
For a change this should be an affordable fix,(holds breath that the remaining yoke and bits will pull out cleanly). Otherwise its ,(I guess time for an aluminium D/S and hopefully no trans/tailshaft damage). Will know manana.
On a side note, was a downright pleasure to meet Brian/Bryan Vert03. to bad the accident happened while you were 4 cars back. Really wanted to record your run.

Well I agree with you guys as far as the drivers part goes. Won't be able to really do anything due to signing the release form. As for the Lady that got hit/injuried I know for a fact spectators don't sign anything, so I could see her getting something out of this $$$$

I wanted to see vrt03cobra run.i was going to make my 3rd run and I was barely getting the 6 year old BFGs to stick at 16 psi.i was able to cut a .504 rt and 1.77 60ft thougj.

The sound that vega was making sounded like somebody was making a pass.thought what idiot is doing that?Then I saw im mirror al the smoke and cars twisted and people running.

I agree some changes will be made to the pit situation and heavier barriers to separate the two.

Was truly a horrid happening, the X car hauling through the gates and into pedestrians and cars. Might be a game over for the Irwindale 1/8th.
For me I got 3 runs in before driveshaft input yoke split in two while launching after a delayed wait after the burnout due to whatever spilled on the prior pass in the Toyota lane. They had that lane shut down earlier for a similar reason, don't know why I couldn't have run another single as we had been running. On one I ran a 7.77@93, not bad for my current setup.
For a change this should be an affordable fix,(holds breath that the remaining yoke and bits will pull out cleanly). Otherwise its ,(I guess time for an aluminium D/S and hopefully no trans/tailshaft damage). Will know manana.
On a side note, was a downright pleasure to meet Brian/Bryan Vert03. to bad the accident happened while you were 4 cars back. Really wanted to record your run.

Car managed 9 passes @ Fontana and broke on the fourth pass @Irwindale. So, I think it lasted 400 miles.
On a good note it will be warrantied by the seller.

Yeah I know, gotta take the time to figure out the root cause here. Sending the housing out to true and weld the tubes. Have also been having issues with the vent for some time now. When the girdle was removed there was a vacuum in the housing.
As far as a new steel Eaton case to break in half, could be a defect.
May just be my lack of great launching skill. My real skill lies in the canyons.

Anthony, what do you recommend to be as you say "stronger", but will still be daily drivable and not ratchet around corners? I need to be able to haul azz through Decker, Latigo, Stunt and Piuma etc. While still surviving straight line clutch drops?
By the way, the tranny output yoke disintegrated while possiblly twisting the tranny output shaft. Hopefully the shaft is OK.

For ur combo and beinga stick radials are not the way to go. TO hard of a compound. U deff need a bias ply tire. But Like Vrt said, the absorbtion will save ur rear compared to the radials esp being 18s. My 99 IRS survived 6k plus clutch dumps at the track and never gave out. Reason being i had ET Streets on a 15" wheel.

Actually the DRs are 315/35/17, but yeah same difference. I know you guys are right about the shock at the drop. I'm just getting lazy about swapping out tires at the track, and also the theft worry about big expensive rims/tires in the pits @the Dale. I should prolly look into grinding the banjos and running 15's with big MT DRs with lots of sidewall. I only have 12 rims/tires, whats two more.

Why dont u just get an ET drag and swap wheels at the track. They will deff help u pik up. I tried an ET Street from a friend when i was comparing 28" vs 26" and the et streets did nothing for me but when i went to a et drag 26" huge diff and this is when i had the 6 psd. But for ur power level u need a 28"

Roughly 200 passes were on MT 275/40/R17 DR on my stock rims. Roughly 100 passes were on either 275/60/R15 or 275/50/R15 (depended if I ran N/A or on nitrous) on my 15in Welds.
