Virgin to the 5.0 scene and was looking to get set up ideas to give me a modest 300rwhp out of my 94 cobra with out stroking (jokes to a minimum please). What are you guys running?

have you had it dyno'd yet? Most gt40 combo's can get around 300rwhp if you have full exhaust, underdrive pulley's, and something like the trickflow stage 1 cam

Like Blind mentioned. Do the Bolts ( Pulley's, exhaust, throttle body, etc) I would rather go with a Motorsport E-cam. Then get the car dyno'd ...

:ugh: every e-cam car I've driven has been a turd, there's lots of better cams out there for mild setups

I ran a E-cam on my old 94 Cobra and it ran for what it had. Just voicing my opinion

I thought with the tfs 1 and 1.7's there was a issue with ptv clearance???

yeah you can do alright with what is there... a custom cam and some valvetrain freshening with a full exhaust should get you there.

Point out three of them... seriously... a lot of Trickflow, AFR combos don't make it their. Its not as simple as you think... Also... make sure you provide dyno sheets... with Trickflow Stage 1 cam..

Easiest way to get their... aluminum head / custom cam combo from one of the big name cam grinders.. full exhaust alone will not get your their... Ask me how I know..

Do yourself a favor and just save up for a stroker shortblock. This way you get your hp and increase torque. An h/c/i swap won't satisfy you for long. Ask me how I know.

And you probably are one of those that think my stock from throttle body to oil pan 302 couldnt have made 249rwhp on a superflow or ran a 13.01@102mph also
My brothers first combo was a 95 cobra longblock with a tfs stg1 cam, edelbrock rpm intake, 1.72 rr's, longtubes, x-pipe, borla catback, 75mm tb, 75mm maf, afm n/a powerpipe, 2" race crank pully, no ac no ps no air pump shortbelt etc etc, 12.40's @ 110mph

What do you want to do with the car? Do you care about being CARB legal?

if you can find a used blower kit you could hit your goal with a single bolt on, watch corral.net classifieds

Carb legal 300hp if at all possible. Want to make the power similar to my 06gt which hit 306hp to the wheels.

+1 on used blower. Relatively cheap and you keep good driveability.

I believe the times for your brothers car, cause that seems more in line with a purpose built drag car. I have a few buddies with less bolt-ons that ran similar times in purpose built foxes.
The 249rwhp from a bone stock car was probably from a charity event or didn't happen.. just saying... I have all my dyno sheets, you should have yours.

sure, here's mine with the stock motor. Just exhaust, short belt, efan, underdrive crank, and 14* base timing. No a/c or p/s.
my brothers car is as far from a purpose built drag car as you can get, full interior 93 coupe, no weight reduction just good control arms in the back, front swaybar unhooked, and ET Drag's with skinnies up front.

Looks good... not exactly what you think of when hear the words "stock from tb to oil pan." but technically that is stock..
mine did okay with a stock pan, "long" belt, PS and A/C (probably running), intake, ported GT40P's and decent cam.. oh yeah.. full exhaust..

I had a set of GT40's and explorer intake/65mm throttle body I was going to throw onto my car, but I never bothered, but I'm pretty confident it would be damn close to 300rwhp with a tfs stg1 cam if I had done that swap. stock e7's, stock t/b, stock intake, stock rockers, stock cam...everything from the t/b to the oil pan LOL, I also had a stock air box and intake tubing with a K&N filter on it for that dyno day.
instead I was a retard and went trickflow h/c/procharger, and rebuilt the suspension front to back and added in a/c and p/s LOL

you can easily do that
dont run any ford motorsport cam
the stock cam in the 94-95 Cobra is better than an E-cam
you can just get the stock heads ported (i like the port jobs that Ben Alemeda does)
port your intake manifold to match right up.
and a Custom Grind Cam from Isky
and run the full bolt ons
thats the best way to do it.
comeplete port job runs for about $600
custom grind cam from isky $250
the port job on the intake shouldnt run for nomore than $200
then again the gt40 heads come with roller rockers from factory
just buy some good pushrods and you should be fine.
Mr. Knockout, thanks for the props to Ben Alameda!
Other than that, I have nothing to say on the OP's inquiry.

If u wanna keep ur stock block go ahead but you can only get so much juice out of that..
I ran gt40 heads w/ stock rockers lol with a custom cam and 93 cobra intake 70mm tb
Full bassani exaust including headers underdrive pullies! It dyno 290hp308tq no tune @10degree timing It ran 8.0@84mph yanking the wheels off the floor
I've put set up together before with afr 165 heads custom cam 1.6 rockers trick flow manifold 70mm tb full exaust pullies dyno 324hp 316tq stock block
So it's just on what u wanna do!! Just keep it tight don't just buy parts just because!
