Sorry, I must have mis-read your post. Carry on.
Adam is pretty damn good! I've never actually done business with him (i.e. payed him), but a few years back he helped me out BIG time with my Chevelle at Irwindale! Being that I do all the tunning myself, I never had someone help me set my total timing on the car. He walked up to, asked what my specs were, and new exactly what my motor liked! Prior to that, I only had the initial timing set, not total. Anyway, on that one night I dropped nearly ONE FULL second off my e.t.s! The man knows his stuff! It's just too bad he's soo far away and soo damn busy! Not that him being busy is a bad thing, good for him, but "bad" for us :)

So wait. You are recommending a shop that you have never done business with???
Don't get me wrong Adam is cool and his work speaks for itself but I think you misunderstand the purpose of this forum Nick. It is meant to to tell people that I went to shop A and had a good experience so I can recommend it. So far the only person in this thread that can lay claim to that in this thread is Kevin.

It gets to be a bit of a PITA as when Damon doesn't catch these things I have to comment and people immediately assume that I am doing it to "protect my turf".
Until the new mods get up to speed we (Damon and I) gotta take care of business.
I got nothing at all against Adam. We have done business in the past and will continue to do so and like I have always said, there is enough business to go around.
I think actually a direct quote from him was:
"We could open a mustang shop on every other corner and we would all stay busy."
But yeah, get your tune Nick and THEN come back and post a reco thread.

I was under the impression that lamc and sinergy were two separate entities. Our member dues help to pay for these boards (not completely but partially). At least that's what mark had said.
Lamc is a car club. Sinergy is a mustang tuning shop. Two very separate things. Or so I was told

you're right jose, but one of the things mark was saying is that even though he can separate the two, others may not be able to. that's where the cries of "conflict of interest" come into play and why some people accuse him of "protecting his turf".
that's why he would prefer the mods to catch this stuff before he does. unfortunately, i missed this one and no one else spoke up, so he felt the need to do so as a board administrator. i was asked to handle another instance late last week, but that person took it as me having nothing better to do.
this position sucks sometimes. well, actually most of the time.

The two are seperate, I just wish the folks on here saw it that way. I spend enough time doing loops to make sure there is no conflict of interest but some folks still seem to want to imply some level of impropriety or another.

Operative word IMO.
and with that extra bit comes the ability to do what he pleases when it comes to shit like this.
And when out of the clear blue sky someone is recommending a place they haven't been to, its more of a smack in the face IMO.
But maybe I'm just an asshole on things like that.
Thats like me talking up the place I plan to have paint my Cobra even though I only have indirect experience with them and telling everyone "hey you should take your Mustang here!"
Not exactly the same example here since Mark doesn't do what Adam does but anyone with half a brain can grasp the direction I'm heading.

Since I have never been to any of these shops I go off what I hear from trusted friends. I will now know not to recommend synergy anymore becuase they have never touched any of my cars. This is more confusing then. So we can't recommend a shop unless the owner is registered the boards? And if you read through this whole thread not a single person has said a bad thing about the shop. Even you and mark say that you have heard nothing but good things about the guy except that he is busy. So what is wrong with recommending a shop that does good work and everyone agree's with that? I could understand your point if Nick said how its the best and the next 10 replies is that the shop is bad and it rips people off. Then you can say that since he has never been there that his recommendation is off but if everyone agree's with him and even past customers and people that know Adam come on here and say what great work he does what is the problem?

Sorry for the confusion. I hope I can clear some of it up.
In situations such as this I remove my shop owner hat and have to play admin. There are in rare instances folks such as Nick that can not differentiate between the two (in his case mainly because he like to cause drama).
I have no problem recommending Adam and ST. I can not think of anyone (as you also pointed out) that has any issue with the quality of work or parts sold by him.
The issue is not with "a" vendor or "a" user or member. Nick has a long history of testing the waters to see how far he can stretch the rules and in many cases break them. He has been in the hole more times than anyone else on LAMC and leads the charge in infractions. The mod staff and myself keep giving him more and more rope and he just keeps hanging himself with it.
Even after a pre-emptive explanation given he still tried to twist this into a Sinergy vs. ST issue when it couldn't be farther from the truth. I will actually wager money that the next time I see or talk to Adam he is going to tell me that the little troll tried to stir some drama between us, not knowing that our good business relationship stretches farther than his involvement in the community.
My business (and Adam's) stretches farther than LAMC (thank god) and what happens here does not really makes either of us lose much sleep.
So long story short, there is a lot of hype on the net and a lot of nutswinging. If you go by what you hear on the net, everyone has a 1000 hp nitrous charged quad turbo supercharged car that runs 8's and every seventeen year old has a gt-500 that daddy didn't buy him that his supermodel girlfriend gives him handies in while pulling 6 g's of corner carving mad force and of course everyone is trained and experienced to build their car with nothing more than a set of pliers, some duct tape and their 36DDD gf's takeoff bra.
To me it is a different matter when someone posts in a forum where someone asks, "Hey know of a vendor/shop to take my car to" or in this instance going out of their way to start an entire thread on a vendor that they have never done business with.
This forum was meant to serve a certain purpose and once that was explained (as it really shouldn't have needed to be to Nick) it should have been case closed, but he still kept pushing the issue.
Too bad that Nick still would not say any of this to anyones face.
What I will say Nick is that either bring my damn manifold back to me (after having it for over a year now) or pay me for it. It is getting old dude.

I'll come back in a about a week with my PERSONAL experience (he's tuning my car) as for getting a hold of him i've never EVER had a problem getting a hold of him. If you cant reach him via email or on the phone go to the TRACK. The reason i "nuttswing" so hard is because I see results. No offense to any tuner out there but throw on a RET decal, Swanson decal, GTR decal and a ST Motorsports decal on a car and see who has a harder time catching a race(i'll give you a hint spankin time). So it's cool for people to toss out Greg B&D racing etc...etc... even if they havent had work done there personally but not for Adam. My friend got his exhaust tossed on by gtr they do great work is cool but not my friends Adam built fox went 6.20's at the dale or 10.60's at fontana. He tuned my 03 Cobra about 3 years ago. I brought it to him after a serious of previously bad tunes by some one who I will not mention. It sounded like an old boat when I brought it to him. I couldn't be happier with his tune. It's held up and always runs great. It's hard to find a good tuner now a days. Adam is the guy

I have had my cars tuned by Adam and he is a great tuner, definitely would recommend him to anybody looking for a tuner, Also i have not personally had any cars tuned by Greg at RET but ive heard and seen lots of great things from him too and would also recommend him too. As far as shops to get some work done right and fast I like GTR

I will someday have Adam tune my car only b/c Greg doesn't do Mopars (yet). If I can pick up 15-20rwhp N/A with a custom CMR tune over a canned Predator tune, it's worth the $400 to me...
