They haven't ruled out bringing it here just yet.

VW North American President said no, because he didn't want to cannabalize GTI sales, but the president of VW said, "Not so fast" and that HE would be the one to make any final decisions.

So it is still up in the air. That is a bitchin car.

I think it'd do well here... depending on pricing of course and as long as they dont think they are gonna sell a bunch of them.

And based on the size, it looks like its on the same chassis as an Audi S5. If thats right, its gonna have to price in the 40k+ territory....for a smallish VW. And that is not something I think people aren't quite ready for. Plus its a hatchback style car and ALL the germans know that generally speaking, hatchbacks dont sell very well here. Mini Cooper has been the exception lately though.

Name the few hatches for sale here now....

Americans don't like hatches the way european drivers do. That's a fact.

DSG shifts from one gear to another in .7 seconds. Why would you want a manual?

Front Engine/FWD
Engine: DOHC 3.5 N/A
Displacement: 3500 cc
Horsepower: 265 bhp @ ---- rpm
Torque: 258 lb-ft @ ---- rpm

Stats of old 2001 300m.

Compares closely to the new V-Dubbb. Chrysler's product sold fairly well as a sedan.
