need some help from the stereo guys in here :look:

im trying to run 2 amps in my truck (1 for the sub and 1 for the mids/highs)

will i need a stereo with two preamp outputs or whatever they are called?

in my old set up i bridged two amps together and everytime i would add bass to my sub it would add it to my mids and highs.

im trying to run a amp for my mids and highs because they sound kinda raspy around 30 (stereo goes up to 50. jvc kdr210)

my stereo has a sub control. will it add bass to the sub or will it just work the same as a bass knob? but even if i lower the bass on my speakers it still sounds like shit so i think i will need another amp :(

or can i keep my stereo and just buy a crossover or someshit to be able to run two bridged amps without adding bass to my mids or highs

not sure what's going on here, but you will want to have seperate rca cables ran for each amp, crossovers wont do what you want.

the way my `97 is wired is like this -
Pioneer avic f700bt double din-
front RCA out to Kenwood 75w x 2 amp, running my front JL 6.5" components with the mids in the doors, tweaters in mach460 pods, and crossovers in each door.

subwoofer RCA out to MTX class D mono sub amp, I forget the specs, running my single 10" Boston sub in the trunk

The amps share a common 4awg +12v power lead from the power dist box under the hood, going to a gold power distro box mounted to the drivers side rear wheel well

The amps are grounded with a common 4awg lead to the rear seat belt clip bolts under the rear seat, going to a gold power distro box mounted to the drivers side rear wheel well

Really good SQ IMO.

in my truck I have the same head unit, going to a pioneer 100w x 4 amp powering phoenix gold 5x7 coaxials in the rear doors, I need to install my phoenix gold 6.5" component setup in the front doors still but I haven't decided on how to mount the tweeters yet...then I'll be building a box for a sub either inside the rear center console or in the wall behind the rear seats.

so i would need a stereo with two rca outputs right?

i want to run a amp for my speakers and a amp for my sub.

the problem i dont want is that everytime i add bass to my sub it wont add it to my speakers.

you need a headunit with separate RCA outs with a dedicated subwoofer output channel.

my pioneer headunit has a high pass filter that eliminates bass below an adjustable cutoff that's sent to the speakers, and a low pass filter that eliminates highs above an adjustable cutoff that's sent to the sub

the amps I have also have the same hpf/lpf built into them with an adjustable knob as well.
