Where do you guys go change your belts, radiator flush, and or tranny oil changed? I was just gonna drive up to the dealer but I thought maybe I could save a couple bucks elsewhere. Thanks guys!

pleasing the customer is what makes a company grow.

Mark goes out of his way for customers...

Me I won't turn down a job no matter how small, or how busy I am or what time it is. That's just the way I work, we are all different though, someone can call me and work an 8-5 and not have time to go while regular hours I'm the type that would stay late just for that one customer even if it's just a small job. I know mark does the same first hand.

I can't even count the times I've stayed late or even overnight at my job to finish a customers car and I'm on salary but I know how important and necessary a customers car is.

I've ran a shop for 7 years all the boss (he retired with a 7 figure savings account) would do is come at the end of day the and get the receipts and money, so I know what it takes to run a business successfully

Also when complaints happen it's up to the business to either make it into something positive or negative.

Yea, Greg doesn't go out of his way for his customers :jerkit:

Two different occasions Greg went of out his way me. First one was after he got the built motor for my old cobra and put everything back together it was time for him to close but he stayed over and dyno tuned it and even waited for me to come and pick it up that night.

Second one was I showed up unannounced without an appointment and asked if he could install a BAP for me. Without hesitation he said yes and everything was done in under an hour.

I think that's going out of his way for his customer imo.

I guess will find out very soon ;)

So when I went over at 9am my appointment time and you show up at 9:30 am is going out of your way? Ya not on time but who cares just a little late but I wouldn't call that going on out the way. Oh ya and your tech did a very good job, he soldered it in and used heat shrink not just some ghetto electrical tape bs I give you that :)

Maybe you mean such a small job? You said it earlier in this topic.

So when you put in a motor you built (oops I meant mmr built) in a customers car and they want an oil change down the road you rather have them take it somewhere else and risk someone messing up somehow.

Why edit what you said about mark?

When I picked up my car mark waited for me till around 8pm and I didn't owe him much $$ so he wasn't waiting for my money. That's just one time of a couple that he has helped me out.

Even rumours went around saying I was mad at him about some overspray from the valve covers, he didn't message me saying not to ever go to his shop again. He messaged me asking me if it was true to bring it back and he would fix it. He tried to fix a problem that didn't exist lol I am tech and I looked over all his work and Brian did a very good job putting the motor in.

Your right about 9:30, thats the time I get here everyday since I take my kids to school during the week. I dont need to be here to strap a car down lol We buid custom harness and re wire entire cars.... heat shrink and solder is all we use.

See there you go making stuff again... I am noticing a trend about you doing that. Show me 1 MMR motor I have sold to a customer in the last 5 years. We do not sell MMR motors, not that I have anything against them, we jut dont use them. Yes if we do all a customers work obviously we handle that... case in point Jr car is here getting that along with a 3.4, Chevykiller car is here, along with the other Bullit getting oil changes. Like I said before we just dont do basic maint. in cars that drive in. How can I explain to a customer that is paying thousands of dollars hey I am going to get your car off a rack to do this guys oil change that drove in. You would never understand that.

Didnt say anything about Mark, if you read it, it says like Mark, no comment

I just find it hard to listen to someone when 4 months ago you didnt know how to install a BAP, didnt know anything about turbos, also sending me over 50 emails about questions you had since you didnt understand things. I got back to every single one of your emails and yet you make comments like you do. I am done here, I will continue to let my customers and rep speak for it self. I would appreciate if you stop making things up. Is it coincidence these things are being made up at the same time you want to start a business lol

i dont see a problem with greg saying that he doesnt do oil changes. take your clunker down to jiffy lube. its not going out of your way... its a car making $10 profit taking up valuable time on a lift whereas he could be making muuuuch more than that. sounds like a smart business move to me.

you keep talking about running a business. obviously you dont understand the one principle of being successful at it: profit.

you're also talking about two completely different business strategies. mark has the "we'll do anything and everything" approach. greg has a more direct "we dont fix & install bumpers and fenders, we make racecars."

to compare the two against each other is like apples and a newspaper.

i just hope that nothing happens to your car now that its involved with mark. it sounds liek you're one of those customers who thinks they know everything and will never be happy no matter what. thats the last thing mark needs im sure is another problem customer...

I bought a used bap from you and when I did I heard a story of how you sold some guy a t56 tranny and the output shaft had bent splines and you washed your hands with it cause you didn't install it.

So if you install it and sOmething goes bad who can you point the finger at.

By the way who put in chevy killers motor?

Btw I have lots to say but it's to busy here :(

Not sure I know what that is supposed to mean.

The only comment I will insert is this:

We all run our businesses according to how we see fit, hence the reason that we aren't all in business together (Even though most don't know this but there was a time when Greg and I many moons ago were planning to be under the same roof. Remember that one Greg? LOL)

I keep my options open as far as the business and am always looking at what makes the most sense both from a financial and growth sense and what ensures that I can provide the best overall service to my loyal customer base while being able to attract new customers and provide an ever expanding service portfolio.
In a different way, I am sure Greg is doing the same.

I will say though that when I needed Greg, he took care of me and then some. When Twisted first needed a tune years ago, he not only got me a tune, but came to the shop back in Rancho and wrote me a tune on the spot and then stayed till almost 1am when we took the car down to Downey to have it dyno tuned, only to find out that the STS harness wasn't working.

Similarly, I pride myself on our ability to go above and beyond whenever necessary to ensure that our customers leave satisfied and come back.

Some people like Greg and some don't. Some people like me and some don't and so on and so on. That is what is great about the socal scene, that there are plenty of shops to choose from and plenty of guys out there willing to earn your business. For the customer, it couldn't be better.

Sergio, I wish you the best in your endeavor to open a shop. I think there is plenty of room with the right attitude for all of us to be successful.

just seems like the dude doesnt take personal responsibility for something going wrong. people need to realize that when dealing with modifications and such its not someone elses fault. its your own. shit happens. parts break.

i just hope that if something goes wrong again he doesnt do this crap with greg at you because you helped him and somehow someway you're the reason why it broke.

I have been drinking a lot of medicine lately for that.

I sometimes realize after an e-battle how much time I wasted on something so amazingly pointless and feel like a fool for getting dragged down to that level.

The internet for our hobby and our business can be great, but people give way too much credence when it comes to shops on crap on the internet and gossip from folks with an axe to grind. It is just sometimes really annoying to see comments and stories floating about that have little to no basis in reality.
