View Full Version : What would make my stereo converter stop working?
I've got th Scosche SLC4 converter, and about two weeks ago my bass stopped working. Originally I had thought it wad my RCA cable, but after I swapper another one on, I still had the same result  :cray:
I noticed that the only way my bass would work is by having the RCA cable barely touch the converted's female input part like this...

Anyone have any idea on how to fix this (other then buying another one lol)? Is there a better one that won't fuck up like this one did? TIA! :)

sub only needs one input. hook up the input wires from the speaker to the left side instead and run the one RCA from the left side to your sub amp. leave the right side unconnected. try that. usually if one lead produces sound you have a short. have you looked at the amp ground lately or the wire going from the amp to the sub itself? make sure nothings cut and grounding out.

I'll give that a shot! As for the wires, that's the first thing I checked before I looked at the rca cable, and they all looked good! I even took them all apart to make sure no wires were broken or brittle and put it all back together.
Thanks!
LMMFAO!!!! I'm a friggin eeeeeeeeediot!!!!
So I found the "culprit". Turns out the switch on the side of the converter was set to "common ground" instead of "line out"  :D
