What are some good front and rear speakers you guys recommend for my 96 stang? I need some. How hard would it be to install the speakers? About how much would a shop charge to put all four speakers in?

I currently have this head unit:

and this amplifier (but it stopped working, maybe needs a fuse?)

if it makes any difference.

hit up Mario (Forced air fastback)...

He hooked my Cobra this afternoon with my new deck and sub box. Bumpin.
He had LOTS of speakers in stock that would fit.

components in the front doors (6.5" midbase + tweeters in the A pillar pods) with no rear speakers, but a mild sub like a single 12" or 10", all you really need.

I've got 6.5" JL audio components up front, with a pioneer avic f700bt navi deck, with a 12" boston accoustics sub, powered by a pioneer 100w rmsx4 amp, the rear 2 channels bridged to the sub. It sounds perfect to me.

that deck looks pretty 80's fab though.

I have a pair of 3 way MTX 5X7's that would fit fine. Your better off not using that amp, and i can get you something for a good price.

I put a 600 watt 2 ch. amp and 10" Interfire sub in Kevins Cobra, i was surprised at the bass from that single 10.:afro:

Hey Kev, did it drown out the exhaust a little :look:

Actually I just got out the car a minute ago and yeah it does pretty well....

I dont hear the creaks and rattles from the crappy struts, I barely hear the blower whistling at idle, and the bass thumps pretty well for just being a simple 12 inch cube.

2 thumbs up!

But now I hear how crappy the other speakers are. So the madness starts.... I'll be back to replace those shitty fronts pretty soon.

I went with that sub because it works in a .3-.7 cu ft box. Try messing with the stereo settings, mianly the midrange, that Clarion had a lot of adjustments on there.
