ok so basically my grandma (my dads mother) is getting old and we all know how shity they get as drivers at that age. anyways about a year ago she hit a kid on a bie backing up. the kid was fine bike was fine just basically knocked him over no bodily hamr was done ....thank god. anyways pd suspended her license til she retook a drivers test...of course she failed. anyways she tried to get the license where you can only drive in your local area she failed that. she just recently got lasik eye surgeory and they screed up so she seriously can't see and she was already wearing glasses and what not obviously. so she's been driving with no license for a year and my dad has tried to talk to her and she refuses to admit that fact that she is no longer legal to drive. she's driven all the way from long beach to san bernadino and back. shes a terrible driver i've been in the car with her. so my dad today went to "visit" while their he "acidently" took both sets of keys well he hasn't come home yet he's on his way right now and she already called the house and found out he took both sets of keys which tells me she was planning on driver her car AGAIN. so she's having a set of keys made and everything. my question is wtf are we supposed to do. can we disable the car or something? cause its getting way out of control and she WILL end up hurting someone and obviously we can't have that.
would it be possible for local pd to get involved with out taking her to jail? just maybe impound the vehicle or crush it? i know that seems harsh but she's more stubborn then well any person i have ever known. she's not necessarily all there either.

u guys can sell her car. She obviously doesnt care for the rule of the law since she is now driving illegally and from what you said, dangerously.
wont end well. either she will be pissed at you guys or she might hurt somebody or herself.

dont think that would work cause our names aren't on the title not to mention getting our hands on the title will be ext to impossible.
that wouldn't work either mason cause its to easy.

Then remove the throttle cable, remove the starter, disconnect the fuel pump.
Choose one they all work.

Is it possible to get a lien on the car for said situation?

maybe pull a couple fuses.

Your grandmother is terrified of losing her independence. That's why senior drivers are so reluctant to admit they shouldn't be behind the wheel anymore.

works best. or just unplug the crank sensor. that will stop it from starting. unplug it, and offer to "fix" the car at your home or your parents home. have it towed, and "work" on it for about a month or so, just until she gets used to not having a car. hell, even to make it believable drop the gas tank one weekend and make it look like you are taking the pump out to test it.
or.....just wait till she drives somewhere, follow her, and call the cops saying there is someone who is weaving thru lanes and you are afraid they are drunk. have a friend call so it doesnt come back to you. maybe when the cops pull her over and impound her car and give her a nice $$$$ ticket, she will realize its best to maybe stop driving.
After the car is gone, get her one of those power wheel chair things. She might not be able to drive from Long Beach to San Bernardino, but at least she can still get around town without walking or having to take the bus! Just a thought/suggestion :)

How about a lic plate and description so we know who to look out and stay the fuck away from?
In this situation, you can't do shit other than what you've done... but since its her car and she doesnt live near you, she will do what she wants.

I unplugged the fuel pump on my grandpa's car. He was out there 2 days later with the tank down on the ground. Best bet is to pull a fuse or pull the starter relay

hell yea man. we have enough trouble dodging the "normal" crazy drivers around here. :highfive:
I don't know why, but I seem to attract them like silly in my Jeep. I swear, every day to and from work (6 miles one way) I see the most dumb driving maneuvers that I never noticed when I was driving the Mustang to work. I should video some of this shit. Like this evening, someone practically stopped in the left lane on I-10 trying to make an exit like 5 lanes over in the right. that person better be thankful I've decided against carrying rocks in my jeep, or I would have thrown them at them. I think from now on I'll carry them. :lol2:

No friggin kidding!! My suburban has been parked for a few years now, but when I was driving it to work, man I'd get people cutting me off left and right!! If it wasn't that, then I'd get those assholes that just HAD to speed up preventing me from changing lanes and missing my offramp/exit or those other assholes that just HAD to speed up to get in front of me and then drive slow! I guess when people see lifted vehicles their minds go into stupid/idiot mode

Careful with that one. Not sure if things have changed, but a few years ago I had a lil fender bender in my truck. Since it was minor and no one was hurt we filled out an incident report at CHP. Anyway, on the form there was a section which specifically asked if items from another vehicle were thrown at you. If I remember correctly, I think it gave a few options then a blank space to enter what was thrown. Really made me think twice about attempting that on the freeway! LoL

i was more looking at legality things not dissabling the car cause she'll take it to a shop no matter the cost to fix it.

Try reasoning with her and talk about the consequences of hurting/killing someone just so she can arrive earlier to her bingo games.

we sold her car and got her one of those cart things so she can still get around/go to the store.
she needs to realize that she could seriously injure herself or others and that its just that time. our grandma did the same exact thing. failed the drivers test due to some arthritis in her neck and she didnt look with her head behind her when throwin it in reverse. instant fail. she kept driving on a suspended license.
Call the local PD and see what you're able to do within the scope of the law. After she seriously injuries herself or someone else, it will be to late for her to realize that she is no longer fit to drive.

since I am poor I usually save my pennies. Usually some idiot would cut me off so I would get back in front of them and slow down to about 10 mph and not let them pass me. but yeah usually a cigarette butt goes in there direction
