yeah nick, it got "deleted". you never posted a thread about this.
i'm not sure what the deal with the search is. i'll take a look at it.

ok, ran through the options in the control panel and there's only one time limit setting and it's at 30 seconds. haven't been able to duplicate this at all, after running 10 searches back-to-back within a minute's time..
*edit*
ok, ran the same 10 searches as a regular user and not an admin/mod, after logging out and clearing cookies/browser cache. never came up with what you guys did.

it's only happened to me twice, and I use the button every time I visit, it probalby happens only once in a while? Maybe there's a bug fix somewhere on the forum updates, Idonno. it's not a huge deal, just bringing it to attention :keke:

daniel, which button are you using?
it may be an issue with that particular feature. it would help me to narrow it down.

oh, sorry! It's the "New posts" (actually, the numbers next to it, which is new from how it used to be, where you would just click on the words "new post") http://www.lamustangclub.com/forums/search.php?do=getnew

hmm. that feature [clicking on the actual "new"] uses javascript. the other part uses AJAX. i'll have to check the site and see if anyone is having similar issues.

I don't click on the javascript link, I click on the "35 (In 12 Threads)" link in red, that actually goes to the "do=getnew" search

ok, that part uses AJAX. odd, since that's what the New Posts In link does.

I agree!

I can honestly deal with the 30 secs. But when the search returns no results (Sorry - no matches. Please try some different terms.), it still makes you wait 30 secs. That part sucks. Other sites, if nothing comes back, you can immediately do a new search. Any possibility of modifying the search criteria?

i just went through all the vB settings lobsta and i can't find something that allows me to do that.
i did reduce the delay to 20 seconds though.
