hello eveybody was wondering what could be wrong with a 5.0 motor if it struggles to turn on and stay on.... the fuel pump has recently been changed out to a 190lph and was wondering if that could be the issue?? was turning over but did not wana start the other day and when it did start it ran for almost one block b4 it gave out... tune up has recently been done abouyt acouple 100 miles ago..

distributor might be bad. What about fuel pressure? has anyone put a gauge on it to see what its doing? Was fuel filter ever changed?

yeah thats what were thinking maynbe we need to put a guage on there n see whats the pressure n im not positive on filter but i dont think it was changed.

well if a new pump was done its not a bad idea to get a new filter on there too.
If you have an OBD1 code reader maybe throw that on and see if theres any codes and go from there.

check vacuum, there could be a vacuum leak
check the timing, make sure it's +/- 2* of 10* BTDC
check fuel pressure, want around 39psi with the vacuum line off the regulator and plugged so it's not leaking.

otherwise, the TFI module could be going bad, but that usually manifests when it gets warm.
