Just throwing this out there for LAMC peeps interested in getting together and racing during this month. This is pretty good advance notice so people can try their best to attend. I know it may be hot, but most of you guys have a/c anyway and I can provide an EZ-up for shade. I'm hoping the warmer temps will keep more people at home and increase the number of runs for everyone that does attend.

Ok... we got claimed participants for this (as per usual. We'll see who actually shows up though. ) But in order for all this to happen and the grudges settled, there needs to be some organization so that a meet spot INSIDE the pit area is established and nobody can say they didnt see or couldnt find anyone.
I usually dont make a pit area because my car is so simple and close to stock that I only need to wait in the staging lanes for it to cool off and be ready to go again.

So where is the spot?

I'm thinking it should be right there near the food area so people can shoot the shit, get food or drink if they want, pair off before heading to the staging lanes and plus there is plenty of light so all of the facial expressions and all explanations behind their failure can be heard and seen clearly.
In front of it or behind the King Taco truck would be good, but behind it will have more room to act as a pit area so perhaps that would be best.

Also people need to make arrangements to be at the track at a REASONABLE TIME. Dont show up late and then use that as your excuse why you didnt get to pair up with anyone, because the verbal abuse (from me in particular) will be just as hostile as it would if you didnt show up. And if you get on that shit list dont cry and bitch about it... YOU BROUGHT IT ON YOURSELF.
Hmmmm, maybe an attendance list is in order here.


Anyway just a few random thoughts I had as I wrap up my time here in Mexico.... let me know what ya'll think.

I don't believe I'll be able to make it, the 19th may or may not be the last day of summer school (I've got a tues-thurs class). I'm almost done with it and I really need to finish it during the summer cause I sure as hell don't wanna pay for a fall session /class just to finish within the first week or two. Also, they're not offering that class during the evening for the fall, so I'd either have to pay for a day class which I can't make or go to the other occupational center/school in Lincoln Heights which is a lil bit further out.

Why not just call Rick Anderson and have him give you a few settings before hitting the track? Your combo is not complicated at all. Just basic aluminum heads on a stroker with a simple fuel system. He should be able to get the tune pretty close over the phone and you can make minor adjustments at the track.

I'd be more concerned about your suspension and those nittos ;)

I've been keeping my eye out for some prostars to throw some MT's on. My 17x10 wheels are pretty damn heavy. Not really worth throwing a sticky tire on them IMO. My suspension will be just fine for my current experience level and I've gotten 1.8 60 ft. times out of it.

wow.. now I dont feel so bad about my best run of the night which was 8.82 @ 81.5 or something like that..... I dunno but everything last night just felt off somehow. I thought I was a little rusty or something...but the track prep wasnt great, humidity was way up so I think that hurt my trap speed, then almost every run I blew the shit out of 2nd gear and spun pretty hard.

there is always at least 1 or 2 lsx powered 240's at the dale, i've seen one of them hit the wall damn hard too. it's a very powerful swap light weight car weighing close to 2800 pounds if not less and big hp. the only problem with them is traction most of the ones i've seen aren't running a decent tire.

I just think that most people throw mismatched parts at their cars and expect them to run the number. A well thought out combo on a 302 can run pretty well with a lot less aftermarket parts. :)

I never got into my motor on my old 5.0, just basic bolt-ons and was just as quick as my mach in stock trim.

Yes you can.... HUGE blower on a stock motor. DONE.

Adding a cam, intake and heads will put it in neighborhoods most cars dont ever get to.

Huge blowers/turbos on stock motors don't work well. The stock 5.0 setup will be out of breath just when the blower/turbo spools up. You need to match the parts in the combo. Now a big nitrous shot is different;)

I still haz pics I need to upload to my puter! They're not the best quality wise, even tho they were taken with my Nikon. It's kinda hard to stay as still as possible to tale a good pic with my son in my arms :laugh: Also didn't help that some dude kept eye ballin my Nikon and my phone (had it in my hand) and walked around me scopin me out. Noticed he jumped on his phone right after he walked passed me and kept staring me down. So I bailed back to my car and left. Ain't no way I'm gonna take a chance and put my son in any sort of danger.
