for the amount you're gonna end up paying on install on any cam you put in, i'd rather go with a custom grind.

I would agree with this, but the comp cams grind has a proven gain. It would take a lot of experimenting to get any more.

get the comp cams or the hot rod cams from frpp. u are fine with off the shelf cams. sure u wont make as much power as a custom grind, but your wallet will thank you.

The price difference on a off the shelf cam and a custom grind is not that far off from each other.

I wouldn't go in to cams just yet with out doing some engine mods.

Jesus Christ. Tech advice from Nick that makes sense and I agree with. LOL.

Javier, don't bother with cams as they are NOT a DIY mod as there are specialty tools required that alone will set you back about 2 bills.
So basically for about 1500-1800 (cams plus labor) you are looking at maybe a 30-50 hp gain (with accompanying mods).

Not really worth it IMHO unless you have other plans in the near future.

3V's love teh boost. Swappin cams on a pushrod > swappin cams on a 3V. Even then, you still need more than just a cam alone.

At first I thought of going with those but now I am being swayed by the Detroit Rockers from Brenspeed. Just have to swap cams and nothing else and they are priced the same as the other cams plus they make the same power with no loss of low end tq. They have a forced induction version of it...

the ford hot rod cam doesn't require new springs, but if the numbers are better then the frpp and have fi cams thats pretty cool

FTW = High boost + built bottom end (no cam needed).
