my buddy has one and need the drum brakes serviced. he would like to minimize cost now since its a project truck. eventually he wants to add disc brakes, but cant afford it at this time. he doesnt drive the truck much so he just needs it to stop every now and then.
any of you guys know a mechanic or know someone who can work on these type of brakes. the truck is located in west LA so anywhere close to that would be great.

Nothing special about drum brakes.. and any competent shop that has been around more than a couple years would be able to service them. Just find shop that works on Fox's, you will be in business. Now.. the pads aren't normal stock items, so have your buddy track down a set before he goes to the shop.

If he can't find the brake shoes anywhere let me know I have a few sources here at work. You can also get them relined if the shoes so happened to be discontinued.
Drum brakes are easy to work on! Did your buddy find a shop yet?
