If anyone knows a TV shop that can get ahold of an Old school TV Tuner, cuzz our family television went out and we really don't want to convert to the NEW TV's yet.

If you know someone that knows someone that can get OLD TV Tuners for SONY Tube TV's in the 60'' Models. Please pass their number along to me. Reputable companies are a + + + +

No, i'm pretty sure the actual TV Tuner inside the Telvision is going out. Unless thats what all this mumbo jumbo on T.V. atm is about. Getting a converter box, but the TV repair man that came out said it is impossible to find the correct part number, since they "apparently" don't make them anymore.

Mofo didn't even pick up the phone to call around, pissed me off

that's because a 40 year old TV used an analog tuner.... something that's going to be phased out june 12. So why would they make parts for something that will not only be obsolete. but won't even work at all anymore?

get a new friggan TV.

8 track, you tool

they called it that because it originally had 8 tracks for recording audio in one stream (can record 8 different instruments, or combination of instruments) vs. the current standard of i believe 4 tracks.

...it's an analog tuner. i would tell you to get a digital tuner but retrofitting that into your current set would be harder than buying a v8 :look:

Doesn't matter. June 12th, it'll be a door stop, unless you get cable/dish/directv/fios.

if you have an older TV dont you need the regular tuner so you can put the digital converter on there anyways?

TV--->digital converter--->antenna--->digital signal

if the tuner on the TV is out theres no were to plut the digital converter into .

just get a digital tuner converter box (like $40) and hook it to your video inputs and your all set. Even if you found a analog tuner to put inside your tv it will no longer work in a couple of weeks becuase nothing is going to be broadcast in analog. And at that point you would have to get a digital tuner converter box just to watch TV. Or if you get cable or sat you will just use there box. Either way the analog tuner is useless to you or anyone else. That's why the repair guy didn't even bother calling.

You should just pick up a used older TV to replace it. I see alot of people giving them away for free or something super cheap like $20 bucks becuase everyone is going to flat panel tv's.

damn wtf are you stuck in the 80's man? unplug your NES console and go get a real TV.

i think the DTV convertor boxes have a coax hookup as well. either way you can get an R/F adaptor which takes composite (the red yellow and white cords) and converts it to coax.

haha, i know that. but on these nice and old TVs that dont have the RF hook up. the coaxil hook up IS the TV tuner. so that means if you want to convert a tv this old that has a broken tuner then you HAVE TO replace the tuner before you hook up the converter box.

and yes i have two TVs in the house that are like this.

Save some of that money you'r investing on your car, and splurge on a TV. Your TV is prolly Black n' White , isn't it ? Did you know that Obama is Black, not white? TV's can fool ya.

if i remember correctly... most TV's devote a channel to the RF adapter, either 3 or 4? so you'd plug the DTV convertor box into the RF adapter, plug that into the coax on the TV, set the TV to channel 3/4 and change channels with the DTV remote.

just like the old VCR's used to be hooked up, before TV's came with an INPUT 1/2/3/4/5/sideways 8
