The last thread got wiped with the crash...
So if you have an account and you've seen some unusual, but interesting films post some info. And just a warning, miss me with the so-called blockbusters and mainstream shit like Transformers and all the silly fucking comic book adaptation films.
I have a bunch of films in my list but if you guys know me, you know that getting me to sit in one spot and look at TV for a couple hours straight is quite a task. :D So its got to grab my collar within a few minutes or it goes back in the envelope and back to the mailbox.
Anyway, I got this film called "The Bridge" the other day... crazy ass documentary about suicide. They interview friends and family of people who have killed themselves or attempted to do so...The guy who survived was pretty damn interesting BTW. But thats not the hook....
These folks wanted to kill themselves by jumping from the Golden Gate Bridge.
The filmmaker captured these people jumping by setting up cameras over the course of a year and leaving them running and analyzing the people who visit the bridge as they are standing on it.
There is nothing graphic about the film but it is pretty interesting hearing the stories of these people.
There is one guy at the end of the film and the way he did it will leave you speechless. They talk about his story throughout the movie and it is sad and disturbing. But his death was the most dramatic in comparison to the others I must say. I wont spoil it... but check it out.

i has an account.
Right now i'm just catching up on movies i missed in the theater but soon i'll be getting into the other movies.
I have the "... of the dead" movies on there. Argento's Inferno. Ichi the Killer. other classic horror movies.
i also got "They Call Me Bruce"
I forget what else.
I did catch Rock 'n Rolla that was a cool movie. I've always liked Guy Richie movies.

i don't have an account, however i liked Rock'NRolla. shit, i loved his previous movie Revolver, with jason statham. very intriguing movie, made you think and if you knew what to look for, you would get to who it was messing with him before the end of the movie. :)

Thats mainly why I got the account too. Because up until recently I didn't have a local movie theather that I enjoyed going to enough to pay 10 bucks to see a film in.
So now I'm kinda playing catchup with stuff that was in the theather for a short time and I missed, or maybe it was a film festival hit that never really got into wide release.
Plus with this I get to browse all kinds of films I'd never heard of.... its a little expensive but I think its worth it when I find movies like the one I posted about above.
I have 2 lane blacktop coming pretty soon... thats always fuun to watch. :D

Primal Fear
Edward Norton in his Prime early age, just starting to become known.
Ya, i saw "The Bridge" on HBO, its a good one, and kinda depressing at the same time. I'm not a movie goer myself, its just getting past the first week of a movie aka all the whored advertisement leading up to release date. Otherwise i just wait a few weeks, then add it to my Netflix line. I'm a day late and a dollar short, but its worth not spending 10bucks for 1 movie, but 10movies for 10bucks

I got that Liam Neeson flick "Taken" the other night... pretty damn good flick. Kinda mindless, but cool fight/shooting scenes and a pretty decent story about the sex trade in Europe run by the Russian Mafia.

i'll agree, some of the dialogue appeared a bit contrived, but i didn't watch it for the scriptwriting. ;)

so thought i'd bump with the movies i saw.
Borderland, interesting but not as awesome as it sounded
Gore Gore Girls: it's a 70's slasher flick and actually the first one to get an x-rating... NOT FOR NUDITY!!! this movie was a gore fest. and like gore for the sake of gore. lets just say they use fake heads a lot and fake eyeballs. I have a pretty good stomach when it comes to gore but in the second death scene i was thinking to myself "really? stop already she's already dead"
Dawn of the Dead (the original): i've seen the remake and decided to rent the original george a romeo flick. effects are much better in the remake and it sticks pretty close to the original. all in all good movie.
next few on the list are:
Day of the Dead (Original)
Quarentine
Return of the living dead (complete series)
ichi the killer
hellraiser (all the bad ones 3-7)
Slaughter High
Repo! the Genetic Opera
Brisco County Jr (complete series)

Lady Vengence
Sympathy for Mr. Vengance (i have oldboy sitting in my dvd collection that i haven't seen yet)

I just got The Notebook and Last House on the Left then i got The Watchmen and Sin Nombre.
The Notebook: :look: thats all i got to say about that.
Last House on the Left: i got the remake which isn't a direct remake they changed the story a little, still better than the original minus the intense rape scene
The Watchmen: ok, i'm all for comic book movies but i honestly got bored and fell asleep. no amount of blue wang was able to keep me up :aaron: hahaha, seriously it's prolly against what everyone says, but i just didn't like the movie too much... except rorshack (sp?) he was the only bad ass, silver specter and night owl? who gives a rats ass about them.
Sin Nombre: its a forgein flick about a dude thats part of MS13 in Chaipas MX and some girl from Honduras that hope ontop of a train to get to Mexico. Its an alright movie. if you dont mind reading subtitles or if you know spanish then its one that you should pick up.
