ok so as some of you know I moved a month ago. And the new place has a garage. So I want to clean up the floor. I was gonna either do an epoxy coating or some peel and stick lanolium tile checkerboard style? Anyone with experience with this. I wont be parking in there is jsut for a workshop and will pull the car half way in on occasion to wrench on it. Mostly just wanted a surface that looks nice and can be mopped up.

I'd say get some etcher and clean the floor off and just throw either the epoxy on it or just paint it. But the epoxy is tougher by far...

I got the cleaner/etcher last night. So I plan on doing that as soon as the walls are finished being painted. Im leaning towards the epoxy I think.

The stuff that Costco sells under the name Epoxy Guard is a decent price for the 100% Solids that it has. Otherwise, the Rustoleum Professional is a solvent based product that works as well. Stay away from the waterbased products... they will not last.
I was planning on using the Costco stuff, but I decided on Racedeck tiles instead. Cost will be $800 for my 18' x 19' garage, but I think I will like the finished product the best.
If you have any other questions... go to www.garagejournal.com and look in the flooring section

Just found this link for the Sears Weatherbeater Epoxy kits at $30.00 off. Since your garage won't be used primarily as parking for a vehicle, this product should fit the bill.

Yes... racedeck is nice, but so is a well done epoxy floor. I just feel for the look I want, and simplicity of install, I can save a few hairs not pulling them all out when my Epoxy floor doesn't come out as planned.

nice! thanks guys. My primary concern is function. I will also be welding in this area and Im not sure how the racedeck would stand up to it. Isnt it like a plastic?
