for the head unit guru's

well i want to something that could possible be very tricky. basically i want the navigation system option installed in my current mustang but i first wanted too see if it's truly worth doing the work. so i have a few questions. will i be able to use the shaker 1000 subs and amps with the navi head unit? will the head unit drop into w/o needing lots of wiring done i expect the ipod wire harness will be needed but anything else? anyone ever heard of this being done yet?

edit did some research and found that it doesnt have the hook ups for the trunk amps and subs so could it possible be done the aftermarket way...don't really know much about head units

so i looked at pioneer which you suggested and this is the one i truly want...was wondering what kinda magic you could work for me on this head unit

I talked to Ryan earlier today after I talked to you and he appologizes but is sick today but will give you a ring tomorrow.

He said, no problem hooking one of the pioneer units up to the 1000, just requires some rewiring.

sweet its no biggie shit happens. tell him to get better so he can fix up my ride :). anyways yeah thast the head unit i want i found that they can easily be had on ebay for about a grand a pop. and used ones are half that. i was wondering if you'd be able to match or beat those prices. i know pioneer has it on there website for around 1700 which frankly for a head unit is obsured. and will this be like a few hour job like the grill or full day?

im guessing you just hack off the stock mach harness and solder on some RCA's eh? thats basically what I did with my mach 460 stuff. works like a charm.

Little bit more complicated as you got some nicely hidden amps and two subs to deal with but the general idea is kind of the same.

Ford didn't make it easy, I'll say that much.

You can use the PAC C2R-FRD1 radio replacement interface, makes it a 10 minute radio swap. I have it on mine with the Shaker 1000

I saw the deal last week and sent it to my friend. I think it was posted at like $380 but he got another $20 off some how. I forgot how he got it but look around you might be able to find a coupon code or pay with bing or something.

I run pioneer (the z3) and have 2 alpine navi (single din) but I paid over a G for each one. This one I would have bought if all my cars didn't have navi in it. I am just not sure on how good this unit is but clarion is a name brand.

I got my 6620 for the price of a off brand cd payer. I saw the Eclipse components going for 50 bucks.So the market is probably going to get flooded if it isnt already

I have an old 5301 that I had to stop using because the volume button no longer worked. i wish i could get it repaired and refurbed back to like new because it just looked right in my mustang. Eclipse was some of the best stuff you could buy back then. Not sure how it is these days.

which is good eclipse stuff Mario? I'm looking at head units and speakers...I got me a few pairs of 3 ways SC8365, that sound awesome, i also got me some SW6210 subs.Pretty sad they had premiuim line and now they will be swap meet specials.

The 12V line has been hurting for a while, probably the past year and they finally gave up right before CES and i was able to get some deals though a "guy" before they sold to some habib thats gonna whore it out.

But i think our parent company is thinking of buying the name and rights like we did with Phoenix Gold. We just released the new line including a linkable 11,000 watt amp which can be doubled
