so most of you know i've been gone for a few weeks. well last tuesday/wednesday when i picked up my car from my parents the battery was dead for some reason.
so i did a clutch start and was running fine, here's the problem.
every time i turn on the car it doesn't turn over right away but it does turn on. starter seems to be working fine. once the car does turn on the gauges take about a second or two to turn on, its not immediate like before, and lastly the passenger side window control doesn't work right away.
Any ideas???

Dead battery or your alternator is out.

i was thinkig dead battery, but it is holding charge since the car does start, tonight i'm gonna toss the multimeter on it to make sure it's pushing out 12.5v

they seem to work just fine. the problem is the first time i try to make it go down from the passenger door controll it wont go. the second push will have it working.

yes. also in my car when my battery was dying and barely had enough juice, all the gauges would go to the far right and back to 0 before kicking on correctly.

i had that with a temp replacement i was using. i also noticed the car didn't feel right either when it was running.
new battery fixed that up. :)

that really depends on you and what you want out of that battery.
when i replaced mine, i went after an OEM type replacement. didn't expect it to be so hard to find a 59 series battery [all the books show using a 58-R or something like that].

Fredo, before you go spending any money, definately check voltage at the battery and check the alternator while you are at it.
05+'s don't like having their battery's run low and the motorcraft (and other such make) batteries will never fully recover.

Get the most expensive battery you can find for your v6 with no audio system. cause it adds power :look:
oem style is fine man, haha. When mine died last year the guy behind the counter was like "do you want bla bla". I interupted and said "i want the cheapest shit you have that will just start the damn thing" . no need for a damn optima

Fredo, get Juans battery if you need one.
Sorry Chris, but when your battery takes a dump and won't take another charge you will find that the couple extra bucks for a dry cell/deep cycle was well worth the money.

so this morning i put the multimeter on the battery and at fully charged (after car was running for an hour) it was at 13.4v. when i get back to my car after work i'll do it again to see the discharged voltage.
