So finals are almost over so my buddy and I are doing this little side project. We are both into building weird nerdy stuff that is badass....so we decided to build these...

Alot of people know about the website http://www.wickedlasers.com/ . They sell high powered laser pointers and other such gadgets. If you read reviews you will learn that there lasers are often made to a cost that does not reflect there HIGH price tag. They are often not as powerful as claimed and break very quickly. My roommate purchesed a wickedlasers laser and did not even use it that often and it broke :(

The Blue-Ray laser pointer just popped on the market, and if you look at wickedlasers prices for Blue-Ray lasers, they are extremely pricey at $1,600/$2,000!!!

http://www.wickedlasers.com/Blue_Lasers-24-1.html

So anyways, we decided to build our own. We engineered and had a machine shop custom make us a heat-sink that can fit perfectly into a beautiful aluminum LED Flashlight housing. Let me be the first to tell you, we put time in to the R&D of this product. We only wanted to use the best diode and machine stuff to look perfect, yet work flawless using Blue-Ray Laser Technology.

Here are some Details

-Genuine Sony Blue-Ray Diode
-120mW Output (WickedLaser’s output is only 60mW)
-2x CR2 Rechargeable Batteries (3.6v Lithium-ion Cells)
-Anodized Aluminum Housing
-Focusing Ring to focus the power of the beam
-Circuit is designed so if the batteries are inserted backwards then the laser will not work, rather than damaging the unit

These lasers are strong. They are TWICE as strong as the wickedlaser units and have a focusing ring to focus the power. These can easily light matches, pop a ballon, and cut through things. Unlike other units, These lasers have a click button so once they are on, they are on. You can leave it on while it points at something. Great from astronomy talks discussions outdoors!!

Once again, these are clean. This is something that you can’t yet find in stores or online, Unless you want to pay ALOT of money. These make great gifts.

We are trying really hard to keep the costs down and may be working a contract with the machine shop which could lower out price. The parts for these is kinds pricey

Price is $200 Shipped.

PM me if you wanna meet up and check them out!!! :ani:

If Your laser stops working you can send it back to us and we will Fix it, Just pay shipping!!!

Please Inquire About Custom Lasers Built....We can Do That

first, it's Blu-Ray, without the "e".

second, i removed all the whore posts. unless people want some "pink eye" or a red/yellow flag, don't do it again.

if you want to whore, use the chat box. that's why i installed it.

not being a smartass or anything, but what do they do? I mean you cant use it as a lazer pointer cause it will burn stuff. And I assume its not powerful to actually cut material. So in general, applications?

astronomers use the green ones fairly often, to point to things in the sky, and also to help calibrate telescopes looking through temperature waves in the atmosphere, or something to that effect.

Other than that, probably just for fun seeing what happens when you shoot it at different things :D

Can you also post a couple of permanent retina and cornea damage due to knuckleheads messing with high powered laser pointers.

Can you also post a vid when the FDA comes knocking on your door? High powered lasers such as these need federal approval. On a side note, can these be used to cut out taillight housings without popping the trunk?

I was skeptical at first when i read FDA but yes, after a little research, i found they do regulate lasers in the US. Funny

If you don't want to run afoul of the Federales make sure you don't sell your pointers out of state. Federal law usually only kicks-in when your product crosses state lines (sold in interstate commerce). FDA regulates radition emiting product (i.e., Old Tube TVs/Comp Monitors, DVD players (they have a laser in them), X-ray machines, Laser Pointers, etc.)

If you only sell within California, you'll have to deal with the California Food and Drug Branch (CFDB). They have more authority and carry guns like police officers. So they'll probably toss you in jail for distributing non-compliant pointers.:angry2:

is there a mounting point? I would like to mount this to my m16 assault rifle to use as a laser targeting device. Any chance you can mock up something to help me out? I'd need it to be interchangeable with my Ruger and RPG launcher as well.

Please respond

Thanks Nick for Throwing up the Video for Forum view!!!

i know some people are concerned with safety, but there is nothing to be concerned about.

These lasers have a focusing ring. This ring allows the beam of the laser to be focused according to the distance of the laser from the object.

If you focus the laser to its smallest/strongest point to an object 6 inches away, but then you move just a 1/4 of an inch, the the beam is useless. It wont burn or anything.

It takes time and practice to focus the laser perfect. It can ONLY burn IF you focus the beam. If you watch the video you can see that when i move closer/away from the object i am burning that it will stop the burn. You need to have the perfect focus.

If the beam it out of focus, it wont do a thing. Its like a really bring flashlight. I opened up the beam all the way (Mag-lite Style) and used it as a flashlight. I shined it at people and it didnt do a thing.

Thanks for your interest guys!!!

Even better. They use Rechargeable CR2 batteries. We included the rechargeable batteries with the purchase. You can buy a CR2 charger (I Did) off ebay for $3!!!! :ani:

This will allow you to mount one of my lasers to your rifle.....someone who has already purchased a laser bought one of there and did it. Works Awsome.
