obviously intake and some minor things. just wondering why ford would badge them accordingly...
04 10k miles, under $1k... rest of pix looked pretty clean...

afaik it's just a pi 4.6 under the intake, find out if it's 6 or 8 bolt crankshaft, 04 should be 8 bolt if it was in a mustang, so I imagine those would be too.

my 96 has a cobra crank so its 8 bolt as well right? just wondering if my alum flywheel and CF/DF clutch will bolt up if i do pursue this.

cobra cranks are 8 bolt, stock 96 gt would have 6 bolt though

96 the windsor plant ran out of 6 bolt cranks and started using 8 bolts. guess which one i got? it was news to me after i had the transmission out and trying to bolt up my new flywheel. it was missing 2 holes. :angry2:

I would thing that the "Interceptor" motors had cooler thermostats compared to the "civilian" 4.6's

that by itself wouldnt do much. gotta set the ecu to turn the fan on earlier as well.

that is just a tag number, it does not mean its a police engine.. I have one out right now and its tag is 45FFP.. anyways, a 4.6 long block is a 4.6 long block no matter what it is in... police cars usually get the water to oil cooler and silicone hoses....

buying a used motor is always cheaper than rebuilding an existing.

rebuilding you know exactly what you're getting.

thast pretty damn good deal for a pi motor with low miles. i know thats the holy grail for 2v motors. plus police had the aluminum block right?

lightning motor?
the blower makes the differance.. same for any 2v.....5.4/4.6 heads and cams are all the same.. blocks, cranks and rods are all the same for the 5.4's......, the closest would be the svo heads and intake, and then it would almost take an act of god to make them better than an PI head/bullitt intake..

im just saying thats the best 2V motor ford put out, is it significantly different then the rest? not really, but from what else ford offered in 2V form it is better then the rest

mark 8's also had alminum blocks which can be used in a 2v setup...some reason i though interceptors had the aluminum block as well. but any aluminum block is a holy grail for 2v's
