what the fuck did I start watching here?? Its about 30 minutes into it and i dont know what the hell is going on. The beggining was like 5 minutes of a pitch black screan and some creepy music, followed by another 10-15 minutes of monkeys doin....nothing. Now like 5 minuts have gone by of people in spaceships doin nothing . Im gettin frustrated
But ive heard its a great movie so I shall sit thru it

yeah stanely kubrick is a crazy mofo. I cant stand 2001, it's a 2 hour movie with about ten minutes worth of talking.

read the book, it's better. The whole series of books is pretty good.
I enjoyed the movie, but I saw it after I read the book.

Keep in mind that Kubrick was certifiably nuts and that people did a LOT of drugs back then.
And yeah Benjamin Button was a good flick.

2001 was alright. the big thing that came out of it was that it set a new standard for space movies and set the stage for what would come a few years later with Star Wars. :)

Talk about a director I am really on the fence on but coming from film school, a director that has been discussed and debated to death.

sorry for adding the "A". and i really enjoyed that book. i threw in the demolition man cause it's very very very loosely based on the book.

yep, that is a great book to read. when i was a teenager, i used to read all the books on dystopian societies that i could find. on of my favorites was kurt vonnegut's Player Piano and another was bf skinner's Walden Two. :)
