Anything different, or something that you were able to do that you cannot do please post here so the mods/admins can make sure everything is just like it was.

The best thing we can do rather than twiddle our thumbs and post stupid shit is help them mod's and mark bring this back to normal without missing something. Better to have them fix it now rather than taking 1 order at a time spread out . They can check list any suggestions you have off this thread

i already know that two things won't be coming back soon:
vB Garage
Timeslips Database

they're not compatible with this version of vBulletin. i am working on an alternative, however.

things that have been restored:
Arcade - with some new games. i'm still working on getting some of the favorites back.
Smilies - but some may not have the same tags used as before.
Pics per post - has been changed from the default [4] to ten [10]. i'm not sure what the value was before, but ten sounded good.
Signature pics - has been restored. the default was to have the [IMG] code disabled and we know how much some of you value having that big honking pic in your sig.
Custom avatars has been restored. i think the default is limited to 80 x 80 and animated avatars are off by default.
Private messages - the limits have been increased to 100 for club members, since i didn't know what the limit was before.

i'm working on the other small things, but if anyone can remember some of the things we used to have and can point them out, i can try to fix it. :)

remember, this is a whole new version of vBulletin, so i'm getting used to some of the changes as there is some new functionality. some of those new things:
Tags - placing tags on threads to aid in searching. this has been temporarily disabled, as some could not control the type of comments left as tags. it may return at a later date.
Profile viewing - you can now leave visitor comments to a person's profile, as well as viewing their contact info and other info via tabs.
Social networking - you can 'befriend' users and they'll be listed in your profile.
Pictures & Albums - you can add pictures and create albums. i think this is disabled right now only because adding a "Garage" will duplicate this feature. it may be enabled in the future.

i'll be on the lookout for some add-ons that might benefit the site. when i add them, i'll post it up. :)

i'm trying. these were some of the things that mark and i talked about doing before all of this happened. we were going to lose a couple of things like i mentioned already, but hopefully gaining some new stuff as well.

we'll come out of this in pretty decent shape. :)

When i first tried to log in, i didn't know the site crashed. I actually though i was booted and didn't know why. I later figured out the site crashed when there were a small handfull of posts and threads.

Can an admin post up a message explaining the situation on the front page? Some members may still be confused about whats going on and may not return thinking their account has been terminated.

the site didn't crash and technically the forums didn't either. the files were still on the server, i didn't know they hosted the db on a completely different server and that's what we lost. :(
