:orly: Project Mad Torque is 99% complete. electrical issue is resolved and turned out to be something stupid easy. My dyno appointment is set. Took longer than expected due to ordering some top of the line shyt including a new digital MAF. This motor is .700 lift and 7k rpm cpable. I'd go in to more detail but most of you mod guys won't know what the hell i'm talking about. Anyway, I'd like to thank all the guys that motivated me in to undertaking this project. You know who you are.
Next time y'all call me out, make sure it's at the track.

Edelbrock Extreme heads and RPM II intake on a 342 of undisclosed compression. Everything else is a closely guarded secret accessible to those willing to share their PMS knowledge. I need to hook it up and at least fiddle with the idle (TPS, fuel, and timing). How difficult is it to hook up the PMS?

Yup. I called the shop number and got a recorded message. There's pretty much nowhere else I can go for fox tuning with PMS.

05-07-2009, 09:07 PM
the PMS is easy to hook up. If you can plug in a ECU, you can connect the PMS.
The first step is to set everything at 0 in the timing and fuel settings if you bought a used PMS. Generally what I do is fiddle around with the fueling at idle to where it idles the best. Leave it so the factory computer controls the idle, if you set it up for the PMS to control the idle you open up a whole nother can of worms.
Set the TPS on the throttle body as you normally would. Then while in the monitor screen on the handheld, press the + button twice to go to the voltage screen. You'll see the TPS voltage there. Write down the idle voltage then with the engine off, key on, go to WOT and record the voltage. Then go to the TPS settings and enter .02v greater for idle voltage and .2v less for WOT voltage. Set the error at 30% IIRC. It's been a little while since I did this on mine and Kevin's car. I might need to look at mine to make sure.
with all that done, save it and go back to the monitor screen. It should say idle for the load then increase to WOT and it should increase up to WOT in the load field.
remember, stangtuning.com is your friend. ;)

You need to go on Stangtuning.com, register but dont post. Just read... all you need to know is there.
Its nice to be able to go someplace to get help, but the PMS is so easy once you learn what its monitoring and what it is able to change that you wont need much help. And plus since every car is different, you need to know what it does so you can figure out what your combo/car likes.
