Long story short, there a yellow '65 Mustang for sale or trade online, it says it's complete minus the motor. I told my dad and my brother about it yesterday, and they were interested in trading my brother's '66 Mustang for tv guy's '65! The guy claimed it had a roll bar and that it was fully built, just needed a motor and it would be an easy 10sec car! He also said he was looking for a bone stock '65-'66 Musang and was willing to trade straight up! So las night m dad told me to get ahold of the guy to see if he still had it, so I text him. Anyway, the guys comes off as being extremely aggressive and tells me that if I want the car I have to hurry up cause it was going to be sold tomorrow (today).

After a BUNCH of back and forth, mainly him
texting me asking a crap load of questions
about my brother's car, he changes his story
around. He then texts me saying that if he
doesn't sell the car he's gong to keep it, drop
in a 302 he already has and paint it. Then a
while later he tells he he's raising his price
from $3500 to $4500, but that he's still down
for an even trade!

The reason I was texting him and not my
brother is cause he's been extremely
busy the past few months! He's going to
school, working, and playing in a
band which involves LOTS of practicing and
studio time! So there are times
where he doesn't get home till well past
midnight on up to 3am!

So, this morning the guys texts me a few
times asking me what's gonna happen. I
told him I left his info with my brother and
that if h had a chance he'd call him, but he
didn't. So called up my brother to see what's
up, but after thnking it over, he decided not
to try to go thru with it cause then he'll end
up with a car without a motor, and his 66 is
his one and only car. So I text the guy back
and apologized for wasting his time and told him that he was going to pass. My brother's
got plans on building up a 351 we've got, but
the motor is far from finished, and when we
came across the yellow '66 that was built
already, it just was too temptng to not look
into it! So yeah, after that, he tells me, "nice text kicking I had fun" Im not sure if I pissed him off or not, but he was the one bugging me and eagerly trying to make the deal. I told him several times that if he sold it or traded it, it was completely fine with me! :D

prolly got tired of answering questions. just go over there with cash in hand or a car that he wants in trade if you're so interested. if not, leave the poor guy alone. i dont blame him for blowing you off.

 It was the OTHER way around! I didn't haggle him whatsoever, HE's the one that kept bugging me asking all kinds of questions! All I wanted was his address to go check the car out, but he kept textng me!

What ever happened to human interaction? Why not just call the guy from the start, then get all the info at once. Texting has its place, like in the back of English class, or when some chick wants to send you a picture of her boobs. Trading cars.....:hammer: Selling a car by text seems lame.

Yeah, I totally agree with you! LOL I had text the guy as a favor for my brother, just to see if the guy still had the car, and if so, get an address. Unfortunately, I never got around to asking for an address cause the moment I told him about my brother's '66 and a possible trade, he bombarded me with all kinds of texts/questions! Im not kidding, the guy would NOT leave me alone! I had to stop responding to him just to get him to stop texting me! Then he text me again at 7am, then again at 9am!
