How many really on your GL? You've had both the motor and trans rebuilt.
My chassis has 206.5k, motor has 63k, trans has 33k.

First drive, 13 miles, from the dealership,” reads the first line of the log, which included details of his first fill-up. “I averaged 16.3 miles per gallon and spent $6.81 on gas.”

that guy shoulda bought a pinto. who the fuck counts their fuel mileage THAT close and even lowers their gear? Sure I monitor mine but moreso to see if all is well, not to save fuel. (hey if i go from 20mpg to 10mpg then its an obvious sign something is up) waste of a mustang IMO. Id rather drive my car to the ground than have a perfectly good stang go to waste. I dont know whats worse, a garage queen, or being that anal with a V8 'performance' car.

i would have to say that being that anal about a v8 "performance" car is worse.
i mean, i completely understand the garage queen thing and truth be told, when i'm finished with my 66, it'll probably be one. i can't see myself downgrading things on any of my cars in some vain effort to conserve fuel, especially with that 351 and that fuel leak sitting on top of the intake manifold [aka carburetor].
you're right. if he wanted economy, he should have bought a pinto or at the very least, the I6 mustang.

I dont understand the garage queen thing too much. UNLESS ofcourse its a full on racecar that cant see much street use. Then i get it. I mean I get trying to 'preserve' something. But eh, Id rather enjoy to the fullest. One of my favorite stangs is the 00 R. And if i had one it whould have simular mileage to my 01 cobra :look: . Id also most likely have enough money to buy another one off some douche nozzle who only drove it for 34miles and then drive THAT one to the ground too when im done with the first one

i hear you. one of the first things i said when i bought my 01 was that i intended to drive it. i couldn't imagine having a modern car and treating it as though it should be placed upon a pedestal and stared at. ;)
