You pretty much have the basic boltons covered. I would maybe consider doing lower control arms and maybe a crank pulley.
I can't remember Javi, is your car stock ride height?

yes, unfortunately, these modular motors seem get expensive quick when you want to squeeze more out of them, and modifications cost alot for what they give you. Be it staying N/A, or going with boost.
If this is a car that will see the track alot, a shot of Nitrous Oxide would be a nice kick in the pants in the power department, but me personally I think it would be a hassle to have it if you don't track the car regularly.
A brake upgrade would probably be nice. If I were to do things over again, I probably would have upgraded the brakes earlier on, for some reason I've left that to the "end" of most of my modifications. A nice set of pads, decent rotors, and some steel brake lines. It would make the car feel a little bit less like a boat with a squishy brake pedal :-) That probably won't do much for a 1/4 mile car though.
And again if I were doing it all over again, I probably would have had a set of cams thrown in (if emissions isn't something you are worried about), a bit of power boost, and potentially a sweet sounding idle, if that gets your pickle going :-)

aren't the Hot Rod cams smog legal? BTW, I think nitrous is perfect for the track.

They could be, but I just assumed that any cams would probably not be. I could be wrong though! :)

try cmdp, steeda udp, some headers full length or jba catfoward are the only carb legal ones and they will give you decent gains, dont know if you want to do it or how much fwy driving you do but 4.10s would help also over the 3.73s
I believe blanco has 4.10s I seen him on the fwy a few weeks ago(10fwy to 605 on ramp) when i was in my svo might want to ask him how he does on the fwy with 4.10s

ohh yeah and a custom tune always squeezes extra hp and makes sure your car is running efficient. I personally used GTR and was happy with the results. I also hear a lot of great things from Greg at RET and Adam at ST

No surprise there. Our stock brakes are garbage.
Whatever you buy make sure they are quality rotors and pads. No point replacing em if they are not going to perform better and last.

4.56's. No fear of the gear here  Still get anywhere from 18-21mpg driving as anyone should drive a mustang. 90% of my driving is highway as well. Also, the T56 6th gear is not really that much greater than your 5th gear. But in all honesty id get 4.30's on a 3v. A 4v will rev higher and smoother hence the reason i went with 4.56's

its not 6th gear you need to worry about, its 1st. 1st gear is TOO long. My 4.56's sometimes feel like its just enough. Theres a perfectly good reason Ford DIDNT put the T56's trans in a mustang till the Cobra R (5.4 torque monster) and Terminator (low end torque monster). The 2v and 4v's na dont have what it takes without a lot of gear to get out of the hole fast enough. Your also not running a Roots blower, so you may want to look further into it before you drop the coin.
a lot of people want the T56 cause its "omg 6 gears and better mpg (bullshit)" but dont know that unless yoru making some good low end torque OR running a short gear out back your really gonna slow yourself down.

Yeah I just looked at the spec's. Looks like a 4.30 or higher would b good for my set up.
Cuz I also have to factor n my rim size too. Thanks for the heads up.

Sigh...
Every time I see someone recommend the CMDP's their car either doesn't even have them or it has never seen a dyno other then the one attached below their stomach that holds their legs in place...
I have said my piece on the matter. I usually don't talk out of my ass.

no problemo. 4.30's will prolly be great since you have the big rims and the viper 6 gear will more than make up for it. Cruising speed isnt a problem its gettin out of the hole as good or better than your 3650. I thinkyoull be good with the 4.30's and the viper spec

I guess if I had two hairdryers I wouldn't give a dam about cmdp also.
I ran them on my car & dyno'd before and after there was about a 8 hp gain and few pounds of tq gain
I would be lying if I said the only things I added was the cmdp though, I also added corsa exhaust and my heavy ass 20" wheels which in indeed should hurt the dyno numbers

I am not saying there isn't a gain, but you are also not saying if there was a loss.
The numbers you are quoting are PEAK hp. Anyone who isn't just wowed by dyno numbers knows that Peak numbers mean nothing when it comes to powerbands and drivability of a car.
IE: 600hp supra gets smoked by a 400 hp cobra all day long in the 1/8th as that supra doesn't make more than 200 until about 5-6k.
Just like with longtubes, low end loss while seeing a mid to top end gain.
Leos06gtLL
10-03-2009, 03:13 PM
i know what you mean I driven cars with longtubes, but i have to say when i put my 20s on i felt the "slower" difference and the cmdp was just enough to make the car feel like it was on 17s again, I didnt feel a lower end loss
