Mine didn't go so well.

I parked it on in front of my house for a few weeks (mixture of driveway and street) since we are using my garage for a backyard project. This sucks and can happen to anyone. It really hurts, because this was a gift from my brother just after I got married 4 years ago. Found out this weekend that these bad boys still go for around $1500-1800.

So if anyone sees an Eclipse AVN6600 DVD/NAV unit for sale by your local thief, it may just be mine. :(

Yeah, I'm fully insured. I will be placing a call with my adjuster tomorrow to see if it is worth the hassle. I have never filed an insurance claim for theft so we will see how that goes.

i'm sure you pay the deductible, but make sure you get an alarm or sensor lights outside your house.

Yeah, I am looking into lights for my house now. I will definitely get an alarm if I decide to replace the radio with something equivalent. As for now, I will just go back to the stock unit. Definitely blows.

That sucks, I know how you feel. I had the Pioneer cd player that I had in the cobra taken, the funny thing is that they took the unit without the face since I removed the face in order to prevent the car from being broken into.

As for the insurance, if its gonna raise your rate, say the hell with it since its not worth paying more for insurance over it. File a police report that way if the SOB(s) are caught and your property is recovered you can get it back or they can pay you restitution.

With the way this economy is, thieves are looking for anything that can make them a quick buck or two. :no: Check craigslist to see if it pops up on there.

The black box they left was the ipod controller for the head unit, would've taken them one more plug to get it, but they must have been in too much of a hurry to get it.
The police report was filed as soon as i found out. and if I need any advice, I will be asking. Thanks guys.

Update...

My insurance wont cover the full value of the radio...as I said in the first post, it was a gift from my brother, so I wasn't able to provide them a receipt as he can't find it. So all the want to give me is the value of the stock radio which isn't even a portion of the cost of one of these. It might be able to cover about half the cost of a refurbished one :(

Also, the adjuster noticed that they slammed my door lock in with a screwdriver/hammer and dented it around the door. so that will have to be replaced as well. For the radio, door/lock damage, center console and other parts I am being quoted for $1200 right now. So if you guys have any suggestions on a shop that can do the work for a fair price and work with wawanesa insurance, I'm all ears.

no, the f900 plays dvd's.

I just use my ipod though, it plays movies through that, it has 3 a/v inputs though if you wanted to add an external dvd player or something.

mine had a small scratch in the front, cant really be seen from those pics, also had a screen protector that was dirty, but that can be removed. Only way to really confirm is with the serial #'s or see if that system is locked and see if the CD i picked unlocks it.

i never said the scratch was on the screen on my unit. it was actually on the bottom, not on the LCD.
