thats a good one... I have been looking for low mileage cars at the junkyards with good door panels in them so I can take the cups so I have a stock pile of them.
But apparently others have the same idea.

I did the sound deadner in my doors to combat some of the noise and I'm gonna be pulling the doors apart again for some speakers (I'll let you know when Mario) and at that time I'll probably hit this area too. Might even throw some sound deadner on the inside of the door panels too.

what pisses me off more about the door on my `97 than the squeaky door pull on the drivers side (even though the tabs are all intact) is there's a rock or something in the bottom of the door.

it fucking slides forward and backwards on gas/brake :( lmao

that's a good tip though, my door pull squeaks even though the tabs all look perfect and fits tight

When you perform this other mod:

You can actually put your hand inside the frame and remove the rock or broken piece that is sliding around inside.

I got no squeeks....but this might be something to do proactively.

Here is a fix for you

I did this mod about 2 weeks ago since the lower tab inderneath this piece was broken and having to buy a new one from Ford constantly is beginning to get old.

Anyways, go buy some black velcro strips. (Maybe $5-10 bucks depending on where you get them)

Dew this (Place velcro strip on the door panel's naked space):

Then this (add velcro strip on the handle panel's back side):
http://img116.imageshack.us/img116/3953/dsc1110small.jpg

Followed by this (add 2 pieces on the bottom plateau piece):
http://img111.imageshack.us/img111/1873/dsc1117small.jpg

and before I say this is the final step..see the broken tab (friggin Ford :bash: )
..ok, this is the final step (self explanatory)..when this is done slap the thing in and you're done.

Enjoy pulling the handle with no worries of it wiggling or making that awful squeak. (If your tab is still intact, I recommend adding the strips to make the panel sit more firmly and feel solidly mounted)

Ken

Nice... my car has a broken handle. never thought of using Velcro.

oh I pulled a ton of shit out of the drivers door already, I pulled $7.87 worth of change out when I first got the car (seriously, I counted it, mostly pennies and nickles, wtf?) when I replaced the power mirror wiring, and the door ajar sensor, then I pulled the door panel again a month ago to replace the door lock actuator and pulled some more shit out, mostly little rocks, apparently I didn't get everything out because I still hear the same fucking sliding rocks noise in the door.

fucking p/o

finally got to it this weekend, I threw this stuff all over inside the doors -
http://www.lowes.com/lowes/lkn?action=productDetail&productId=154017-81326-PS625&detail=&lpage=none

don't think the velcro I used on the door pull was thick enough though, it still moves around and makes a bit of noise when I grab it to shut the door (which happens with a solid 'wump' now ;))

found what was inside the door too, a paintball.

I did some of the trunk with the peel and seal also, and in the drivers side rear corner of the trunk down in the well area, found another ~30-40 paintballs.

what is wrong with people?

I used that stuff too on the cobra. Made a good difference in quieting things down. I plan to go over the trunk area and under the rear seat....one day.

I used dynamatt extreme on my doors and floorboards. also the hatch area. made a significant difference in quieting rattles and outside noise. gonna do the roof next.

the trunk lid of my fobra had dynomat extreme on it when I got it, this peel and seal is thicker and feels/works exactly the same, if not better...for $15/roll
